Motorola DROID pictured with Android 2.2 upgrade
With pictures circulating of the Motorola DROID being powered by the Android 2.2 OS, one could come to the conclusion that the Froyo upgrade is right around the corner. Despite the better specs found in the HTC Droid Incredible, Verizon has continued to promote the DROID (currently the center of a BOGO promotion) and the device has continued to sell well. Part of the reason is the short supply the carrier has of the Droid Incredible. The other reason has to do with the handset's ability to quickly receive the next firmware build. Unlike the Incredible, which has the Sense UI on top of Google's open source OS, the DROID doesn't have to wait for HTC to upgrade Sense before it can run Froyo and future upgrades. And while pictures can always be "fixed", the idea that Motorola's device is probably next in line to grab what is seen as a strong effort from Google might have people looking at the Motorola model running Android 2.2 instead of the Droid Incredible with the 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

Really, not bright, are you? Stop eating the bean curd. Wash that hemp rag you call a shirt. Oh, and put the iPhone down. It has obviously warped your brain.

well lets take a look here. i get to witness first hand how much of a piece of shit this phone as well as pretty much every phone motorola manufactures by having to repair/replace one after the other. you on the other hand saw a sparkly commercial on tv while you were stuffing you greasy pock-marked face that said buy this phone because people will think your awesome. keep following the herd mister sheep. claiming that anyone with a half of a brain that can tell that motorola products or consistantly sub-par is an iphone owner is about as ignorant as it gets. get half a clue and maybe your IQ might raise into the double digits.

that app launcher is not 2.2, it's an app you can install from market called helix launcher 2. i use it now...

That Launcher is not Helix 2..it may be similar, but not the same. Helix2 is way too slow for them to release.

No its not helix. Helix has a certain glitch where the curving of the icons is actually blurred out and distorted where the beginning of the effect is. I dont even like the 3d menu, thats why I am just keeping root and waiting for a cooked ROM.

The 3d menu is on the Ally.
