Mophie's new battery case for the 2018 iPhones has a huge feature that Apple's case doesn't

Unlike other battery cases, including Apple's, the Juice Pack Access charges the 2018 iPhone models without using the Lightning port on the bottom of the unit. This gives users the ability to charge their handset while still providing them with access to the Lightning port on the bottom of the device; hence the name, Juice Pack Access. And don't think that it isn't a big deal to leave users with access to the Lightning port; without it, those with an iPhone would have to decide whether to listen to tunes using wired earphones, or replenish the battery powering the phone.

The Juice Pack Access for the iPhone XS Max is $99.95, includes a 2200mAh battery, and is available in Black, Gold, Navy and Deep Red. However, the product is currently out of stock, so if you visit Mophie's website, you can register to receive a notification when the product can be ordered.

One Juice Pack Access model is offered for the iPhone X and iPhone XS, also priced at $99.95. Equipped with a 2000mAh battery, this product is in stock now and can be purchased in the same color choices available for the iPhone XS Max. Both the iPhone XS and XS Max will run for as long as 31 additional hours with the case.

The iPhone XR has outstanding battery life as is, but Mophie still is selling a Juice Pack Access for this model as well. Priced at $99.95, it comes with a 2000mAh battery in Black, Blue and Red. The case will extend the battery life of the phone for as long as 25 hours.

If you're wondering how these compare to Apple's Smart Battery Cases, off the bat we can tell you that Apple's cases need to be plugged into the Lightning port, unlike the Juice Pack Access. While priced $29 higher than Mophie's cases at $129, the ones from Apple offer a little more extra battery life; up to 37 hours in the case of the iPhone Max XS, as long as 33 hours for the iPhone XS/X, and up to 39 extra hours for the iPhone XR.
