Mock-up of Apple's rumored iPhone phablet shows a taller device than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Those infamous Apple iPhone 6 dummy models were put to work on Tuesday, starring in a video. The mock-ups are used by case manufacturers to help them design their wares for the next iteration of Apple's iconic smartphone. The size of the cases, and the shape of any cutouts, has to match the design on the real iPhones. Therefore, these non functioning "dummy" units are our best bet for now, in figuring out how the new iPhone models size up to the competition.

We expect Apple to release two variants of the iPhone this year, the 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6 and the 5.5 inch Apple iPhone phablet. Based on the size of these dummy models, the phablet sized version of the iPhone appears to be taller, but not wider than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 even though the latter has a larger display. The LG G3 fits exactly inside the iPhone phablet's frame even though both phones share a 5.5 inch screen.

If the mock-ups are the right size, and do reveal the correct dimensions of each new iPhone model, it would appear that the phablet version of the iPhone is going to be a pretty tall gal. Many have criticized Samsung for not cutting the height of the Galaxy Note, and now it would appear that Apple is about to offer an iPhone with a taller body than Samsung's phablet, but featuring a smaller screen.

If one were to buy into the argument that Apple actually increased sales of the Apple iPhone 5sby offering the plastic cased Apple iPhone 5c with slightly lower specs, one could come to the conclusion that by producing such a large phablet, Apple is making the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 look more pocketable.
