Microsoft Singapore offers BOGO on Nokia Lumia 530 Dual SIM with one big condition
Microsoft Singapore is trying to bribe you to like their Facebook post. If more than 530 likes are received by Midnight, September 14th Singapore time, they will offer a BOGO deal on the entry-level Nokia Lumia 530 Dual SIM. That gives you a little more than an hour to make this happen. A total of 408 likes have been received so far.

The Nokia Lumia 530 is an upgraded version of the low end Nokia Lumia 520. All the latter model has done is become the most popular Microsoft handset of all time with over 12 million active units out there. The Nokia Lumia 530 features a 4 inch screen with resolution of 480 x 854. A quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 is under the hood with the Adreno 302 GPU. 512 MB of RAM is inside, along with 4GB of native storage. If you need more memory, the microSD slot on the device has a capacity of 128GB. The only camera on the phone is a rear-facing 5MP snapper, and a 1430mAh battery powers the whole shebang. The model does come with Windows Phone 8.1 installed. And of course, the Dual SIM model has slots for two SIM cards.

Will enough people like the Facebook post in order to activate the deal? We should know in less than an hour, Stay tuned.

UPDATE: At midnight, Microsoft received 500 likes for the post, so they have lowered the bar. The time conditions have been removed, so as soon as the post in questions receives 530 likes (its only 30 away), the BOGO will take place.

Phonearena needs to be careful about their wording, its a promotion not a bribe, Everyone from Android OEM's like Samsung, Motorola and countless others , to Apple's Iphones, Wireless carriers etc have different types of promotions, saying bribe tends to bring out the haters who are ready to bash.

It is not a promotion if they don't get 530 likes Alan F.

How are you even a writer, Alan? You're terrible at it. "Promotion refers to raising customer awareness of a product or brand, generating sales, and creating brand loyalty." Having people like a page/post on Facebook, retweet or follow an account on Twitter, etc raises brand awareness and generates sales. It's how promotions on social networks always work.

Yep 530 could have been better than 520 overwhelmingly instead of certain features, guess they were looking at the price point.

One could make that argument . At the same time 530 has benefits over the 520. The 520 has a 4in IPS screen with an 800x480 resolution. The 530 also has a 4in screen, but with a higher very slightly resolution of 854x480 for on screen buttons for those who prefers that option. 530 has a dual sim version which for some people is a major advantage, i can be wrong but the 520 is not dual sim . microSD card to add up to an extra 128GB which the 520 doesn't support.

Don't forget the difference in processors. 520 has dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus, 530 has quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200. Alan F.

I thought about that, the specs are a tad confusing. The quad-core 1.2GHz processor sounds better and faster than the Lumia 520’s dual-core 1GHz chip. It probably isn’t and here’s why i think so the 530’s four cores themselves are the same as used in the Snapdragon 200 processor, whereas the 520’s twin cores are the same as the Snapdragon 400’s. It also means a worse graphics processor – the Adreno 302 against the Lumia 520’s 305.

not a joke i would is not made as an upgrade to lumia 520....the upgrade to L520 is L630.....L530 is made to attract customer with even lower price point.......but still there are thing L530 have and L520 have.. -Better camera colours and sharpness -better screen colours(but not auto brightness option and sunlight readablity) -better processor -better optimazation with software -dual sim support -more compact

Not really. The 521/520 are great phones no doubt, but at the time they were introduced, they were NOT 100$ dollar phones. If i am not mistaken they would go for 149-199 depending on market. Then the holiday season hit and they were down to 99 at times 50-99. The 635 to me is the replacement for the 521/520, not to mention the benchmarks of the 530 have been better in almost all regards (benchmarks)
