Specs leak for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s along with a new image of the phone
Last year, Xiaomi released the Mi Mix 2, the sequel to its original near bezel-less model, the Mi Mix. Last month, we told you that the manufacturer could release a revised version of the Mi Mix 2 at MWC. Called the Mi Mix 2s, specs for the handset were just discovered on China's microblogging site weibo.  According to the leak, the phone will feature a four-sided ceramic unibody with a 5.99-inch full-screen display.

The Snapdragon 845 mobile platform is under the hood, carrying an octa-core CPU with a 2.8GHz clock speed. The Adreno 630 GPU is also on board. The Mi Mix 2s will feature 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM along with 256GB of high speed UFS storage. The dual-cameras on back both weigh in at 12MP, and offer optical zoom. The device will have global 4G LTE bands and is said to be equipped with an under display fingerprint scanner.

A promotional teaser for the Mi Mix 2s was recently discovered, and it showed a render of the device. Thanks to that image, we can see that instead of a full notch at the top of the screen, the front-facing camera is taking up a very small part of the display in the upper right corner. The bezels appear to be thinner than those on the Mi Mix 2.

Will this be the handset that Xiaomi uses to break into the U.S. market? We will know much more later this month when the MWC trade show opens in Barcelona on February 26th.

Placing the front facing camera on the top right is really smart. Wow Xiaomi, good job!

As a die-hard fan of both Samsung and Apple...I'm quite surprised that a chinese OEM has managed to make me gasp as much as Xiaomi has. This Mi Mix 2s is actually a gorgeous device with a very unique front look, and I hope other OEMs take note. I'll definitely be picking one of these babies up if it launches with proper support for US GSM carriers.

The current Mi Mix 2 is fully compatible with all US GSM carriers and Verizon (cdma) too. Not sure about Sprint though.

If this picture is legit, then I'll seriously consider purchasing this phone. But I wonder why Xiaomi have gone with the 2S name. It's a new design with no bottom chin bezel and new top corner selfie camera, so I would've thought they would've just gone with Mix 3??? If it were the same design as the Mix 2 with bumped up specs, then 2S would fit the 2S name.

Probably because the Mix 2 was only released about 5 months ago. It's no different than OnePlus releasing the 5T 6 months after the 5.

I think they may improve the non speaker vibration of the original Xiaomi Mi Mix for the Mi Mix 3.

The current Mi Mix 2 has a conventional speaker.

I'm very happy with my Mix2. The camera placement works fine for my video calls so I don't really see a reason to upgrade. I'd much rather this 2s had a super thin top bezel than any type of cut out. I'll wait to see what the Mix3 offers.

If this thing has IP 67/68 rating, this might be my next phone

I wish they use a 6.4inch screen, thats my spec... it would be same size as the average phab (say, the Note 8). And then combined with the divinely placed notch, it would be pure magic!

Depending how large the rear camera bump is, this might be the best design until the camera sensors can be placed under the screen.

Neither samsusg nor apple leading All screen design .. its Xiaomi they brought this trend and now they gonna take it to thenext level .. and this what i'm talking about unnoticeable notch and smart design wow i'm impressed how Xiaomi could achieve this .. all Android phone makers are welcomed to inspire from this design not from iphone X or essential phone .

Why? Notch is problem for Android users.

I was one of those 'ewww ugly notch' people at first, until I got my X, and now I don't even notice it most of the time. it'll be cool to see how small Apple can manage to make the notch for 2019's iPhones, which so far is rumored to be a much smaller notch.

This could be my next phone, as long as the camera is pretty decent, it ticks all the other boxes.
