MSN universal apps to be available for Windows 10 Mobile devices
Microsoft has unveiled updated versions of its MSN universal apps. Originally developed for Windows 10 PC desktop computers, these apps will be available for phones running Windows 10 Mobile. While the content is the same, the display is optimized to fit the smaller screens employed on smartphones. The apps include MSN Sports, MSN News, MSN Weather and MSN Money.

Microsoft expects to start disseminating Windows 10 Mobile later this year to those Windows Phone 8.1 models coming along for the ride. One of the most interesting things about Windows 10 Mobile is Microsoft's decision to take control of updates away from carriers. Additionally, Microsoft envisions a world where all Windows Phone handsets are updated at the same time regardless of the manufacturer, model, country or carrier.

Check out images of the MSN universal apps which will be available for your Windows 10 Mobile handset, by clicking on the slideshow below.

Running the preview here and the new news app is superb on such a large screen. Fast as hell too, not that the other app was slow or anything.

Nice, but why are there 4 separate apps? Wouldn't it be better if it was one complete MSN New app?

not everyone cares about all of it so it's nice that they seperate it though they should combine the news and weather app like google does.

Yea, they are all almost the same app I'm sure they share basically the same code, except some slightly different icons Say one app is 15mb So if you did want all, it would take up 60mb Instead of a complete app being say 20mb Not a big deal I guess, but it would be more convenient as well But I can understand why MS/Google/Apple split up their office apps, since Word/Docs/Pages is very very different from Excel/Sheets/Numbers and PowerPoint/Slides/Keynote

Really nice. Reminds me too much of Material Design though.

You mean Material Design reminds you of WP. They had the flat UI first back in 2010 when WP7 released.

Two sets of completely different designs. Even wp10 is very different from wp7 and wp8. More importantly how well the general public acceptance is more important hopefully better than wp8/wp7.

Now that it's official for MS Universal Apps to be able to run on Windows Mobile 10 OS smartphones now the developers can truly make a Universal Apps that runs on a Windows 10 Desktop PC or Surface Pro 3 tablet that will easily scale down to work on a Windows mobile smart phone. This is great news for Windows 10 smart phones users because there will more Apps available to them and they will integrate to share and use data with all Windows 10 devices they have. Windows Mobile 10 OS smart phones will be the best smart phones to use with the new windows 10 devices in the Enterprise and with consumers at home that have Windows 10 Devices like Desktop PC's, Laptops/Ultra books and windows 10 OS tablets

Wow! I'm really loving the new UI design path Microsoft is taking! Clean, fresh, simple and visually attractive! Good job. Waiting eagerly for W10M devices to switch!
