LG the big winner from the Apple-Samsung skirmish, to supply most of the iPad Mini 7.85" displays
LG will be the company to benefit most from the patent litigation going on between Samsung and Apple, which forced Cupertino to try and wiggle out of their dependence on Samsung as components supplier.

Now the majority of the rumored 7.85" displays for the iPad Mini are said to come from LG's screen factories, and, considering Apple will likely sell many millions of the smaller iPad slates, it should bring a nice chunk of change into LG's coffers. Moreover, as it scaled up its capacity for Resolutionary displays, a lot of orders for the new iPad are going to it, instead of Samsung now, says the report.

Samsung still remains the flat-panel leader, before LG and Chimei-Innolux, and LG hopes to close the gap, benefiting from Apple's urge to limit Samsung's presence in its supply chain as much as possible.
