Job postings show Apple is serious about VR
Recently Apple received a patent for virtual reality headware that had been filed back in 2008. Apple is apparently serious about building this as a couple of job listings posted by the company show that it is seeking to fill positions that might be related to such a product. Apple is seeking people with a background that will help it create "extremely high fidelity VR environments."

One opening is for a "Sr. Display Systems Engineer." The job posting says that the positions requires the applicant to: "Specify and test novel display systems for virtual environments, Work with vendors to develop custom display solutions, Design and select appropriate hardware and software components to optimize fidelity in a variety of VR environments, Develop software to support displaying rendered image sequences on the display hardware, and Work closely with software, electrical and mechanical engineers during testing and integration."

Apple also had two openings for a VR/AR Programmer, one posted in December and the other posted a few days ago. Those filling the openings could find their software used in Apple products with a built-in VR feature. Apple already has a number of employees well versed in 3D gesture and eye tracking that came over in the 2013 purchase of Israeli based PrimeSense. That is the company that worked on Microsoft's  Kinect motion tracking accessory for Xbox.

You obviously won the Internet or something lol. But seriously with all the money Apple rakes, they could flood the industry with some amazing technology. But it's like they don't have to. A solid chunk of their consumer base will buy anything they make regardless of when it comes out or how outdated it may already be.

what people buy is none of your business, its theirs. outdated or so, atleast they get what they want.

I kinda feel like it is though. The type of person I am makes me want everyone to have the best. Or more specifically, features that haven't been around for half a decade. It's get under my skin. Are you mad or something cause my day is going great lol.

yes i think they would wait for some other company to create a perfect VR headgear and then stole it and add some "Apple-thingy" to it and sell it like hot cakes and of course, most people would be worshipping Apple as usual and calling it "genius", "best of the best" ect. lol

Apple copying Samung as usual. Apple owners are too poor to afford VR off contract anyway, since most of them work at McDonalds flipping burgers.

Man, why do you hate people that buy Apple products of which are a bigger chunk of Android users who purchased an iPad for a Tablet instead of an Android one? Yes there are iPhone owners who flip burgers and there are also iPhone users who run a multinational corporations and every one in between... I'm trying not to constantly fall under a fanboy curse, but posts like yours force me to bring counterpoints again, and again, and again...

Yea, Samsung can't claim VR for their own, there's far too many past VR headsets E.g. Nintendo Virtual Boy, from back in the 90s

Yea, fair point, their claims can be ridiculas too I actually want Apple to steal Samsung's best features or best parts of design And for Samsung to steal Apple's best features or best parts of design So we the consumers get better products :D

Ofcourse! After Samsung did it. How did they (apple) get a patent for something that's already on the market? And yes it's the same method as the gear VR. It has to use your phone.
