Jelly Bean coming to the Nexus S, Samsung confirms

Android 4.1 runs on the Google Nexus 7, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the next device in line for some of that Jelly Bean goodness. This is all stuff that we already know. Yet what Samsung just made official is that the Nexus S will get the JB update as well. Note that this is not a rumor as the statement comes straight from the horse's mouth.
The folks at PocketNow sent an inquiry to the Korean tech giant regarding Jelly Bean updates for its devices, and here is the response that they received:
That is about it for now, but more info on the matter is to be announced in the near future. When all those Google Nexus S owners can expect getting an update is still unknown.

It's a good news for the Galaxy S users too :D Porting incoming ! It started from Froyo 2.2(official) >Gingerbread 2.3(official) > ICS (CyanogenMod9) >JB (CyanogenMod10?) With ICS my Galaxy S just runs like hell, waiting for its lastest update :-)

woo hoo! this is good news for GalaxyS owners. The Nexus S is nearly the exact same device. If its going to the nexusS, its going to be ported to galaxy S devices through XDA. Celebrate guys. Yea, the SGS1 isnt on any update radars. its over 2 years old now. its time to just realize its XDA or bust. and if your not willing to root and ROM your phone (its incredibly easy), then no complaining.

Excellent news for Nexus S owners. I'm with Sprint and if they don't get any new WP8 devices, which seems unlikely as it seems Sprint would rather support Firefox OS and push iOS, then I always said I would just get a Nexus device. Sprint has some excellent Android devices, but I'd rather have the pure Android experience and have the reassurance of getting updates on time.
