Is this phone Meizu's answer to the Xiaomi Mi MIX?

Is this phone Meizu's answer to the Xiaomi Mi MIX?
The Xiaomi Mi MIX has captured the attention of consumers with its stunning 6.4-inch screen. The display covers 84.16% of the front body (not 91.3% as Xiaomi claims). The phone's first flash sale, held on Friday, sold out in just 10-seconds. As you might expect, other phone manufacturers appear to be working on new models with a similar design to the Mi MIX.

Surfacing today on Weibo is the image of a phone that allegedly is being built by Meizu. It obviously would have a high screen-to-body ratio, and the most recent speculation has the manufacturer making the handset official on December 24th. Christmas Eve falls out on a Saturday, which is just one reason why we should take this story with a grain of salt.

If this is legitimate, Meizu's phone will have an even higher screen-to-body ratio. While the Mi MIX serves up a bottom bezel, the Meizu model does not have one. There is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the glass (possibly Qualcomm's ultrasonic scanner). There have been rumors that the 10th anniversary Apple iPhone will offer something similar in appearance with absolutely no buttons on the front.

Meizu says "Something unexpected is coming." To find out what, simply click on the slideshow below.

Interesting. Wonder where the front-facing camera goes, assuming it has one.

Look more like a concept art than a real phone. I am 100% for high screen to body ratio phone. With the proven success of mi mix, every android manufacturers would be releasing their mi mix equivalent. Look forward to those phones.

now tim cook is watching his 9 year-old iphone screen design language, and say, "you all still wish for iphone 7, i know."

If all phones get this 99% screen to body ratio, then all this copy-paste bs can stop. No more Apple and Samsung copycats.

I like how you're trolling to get others to flame you. Nice work..

I am not trolling it is true, the Chinese were copying Apple's designs and then then their attention shifted to the Samsung Edge design. Now for once, we can say that they are not copying anybody but themselves.

Bad news is that this design is 'no go'. Impractical! Actually Sharp tried it and failed.

Samsung galaxy note was not the first phablet. People laughed at it. Its predecessor failed miserably (i forgot if it was asus or lenovo). But now, large screen is the norm.

I don't see your point. Note1 was the first Note device and still no one OEM could make such device no matter how big screens they make. Note is not only big screen. ( BTW WTF is the 'phablet' BS name?lol) Well I love bigger screens in smaller body device too, but even very small, the the top and bottom bezels are here stay(at least for now) Design like this is impractical. Think.

or maybe simply because most likely SAMSUNG have patented their note screen-pen capability with huge license fee, have you ever thought about that possibility?
