Is the HTC One coming to Verizon on May 22nd?
We don't necessarily like to pat ourselves on the back, but now that the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon has been introduced with a May 16th launch date, we just want to remind you that on Wednesday, we told you to no longer expect that model to be introduced during Nokia's May 14th event. In fact, we told you to expect the Nokia Lumia 928 to be introduced shortly. Two days later, it was.

But the point of rehashing all of this isn't to point out that our Magic 8 ball was working well on this call, it is to let you know that Verizon had previously stated that it would announce something at CTIA Las Vegas on May 22nd. Now that we know that this will not be the Nokia Lumia 928, it could be the HTC One, or at least Verizon's version of the device. Back in March, some leaked information from Walmart hinted that the HTC One would be launched as a replacement to the HTC DROID DNA. But the latter had been selling fairly well, giving Verizon no reason to pick up the HTC One. At least until now. Certainly some Verizon customers have been asking for the device and indications are that it is selling well for other carriers.

There is no guarantee that we will see the HTC One or anything remotely close to an HTC DROID DNA sequel coming out of Big Red's camp on the 22nd. But for Verizon customers who want to dream, might as well dream big.
