SNK Playmore has recently released a port of its classic Fatal Fury Special for both Android and iOS! The Special edition is actually a redux of Fatal Fury 2 with an added combo system and a few more characters. The game was big among fighting game fans back in the '90s, as it adorned not only arcades but many, many different consoles (from SNES up to PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 via the Live Arcade service, to be exact).
If you aren't familiar with Fatal Fury, you must've at least seen its iconic protagonist – Terry Bogart (pictured above) – cameo in one of SNK's many round fighters or side-scrolling beat 'em up games. The game was a pioneer in the fighting genre, introducing a "lane" terrain, where you can not only move left and right, but back into the background and forward to the foreground – talk about early developments of 2.5D fighters!
Now for the bad news – the game doesn't support an external controller – at least for now. We truly hope SNK rights that wrong as anyone knows that fighters on a touchscreen are... not the best. So, if this is a deal-breaker for you, especially when we are talking a $4 mobile game, we'd suggest you keep a close eye on the title's updates before shelling out the cash. In the meantime, you may wish to check out some of
these great fighting game ports for mobile.
