Huawei just got off the stage where it announced the next big horses in the Mate line stable, namely the 10 Pro and its pretty offspring, the Mate 10. Packed to the gills with all that's modern and dandy, the phones are the culmination of Huawei's multiyear effort to sit next to Samsung and Apple when the jury gives out the market share awards, and it is currently sitting right behind them indeed, in profits included.
Handsets like the Mate 10 are to blame for the high profile the Chinese company has received in the last two or three years, and they beautifully finish its transition to higher-end, high-margin handset maker - you know, just like those two winning companies.
Huawei is currently one of the few that makes money from its phones, and when we look at the pricing of the new Mate 10 and 10 Pro, we can see why it has succeeded in moving its handset business upscale. Huawei told us that price and availability for the US will be announced at a later date, and we will update accordingly. Any takers?
