Here's a neat little trick to save battery life on your BlackBerry Z30 or BlackBerry Q10 handset
Sometimes, saving battery life on your phone is just a matter of common sense. Take the BlackBerry Z30, the flagship BlackBerry 10 handset. The phone has a Super AMOLED screen just like the glass on the QWERTY-equipped BlackBerry Q10. What do we know about Super AMOLED screens? Black pixels do not use any battery power. Is there a way that we can harness this information to save battery life on either BlackBerry?

By making the wallpaper for both BlackBerry models pitch black, you should be able to save some battery life on both phones. Using your the browser on  your Z30 or Q10, click on the sourcelink and save the image to your device. Then, when you open up the file, tap  SET AS> WALLPAPER. You will now have a black background that is saving you battery life. No, we are not talking about extra hours here, but even a few spare minutes could be the difference between having enough juice to call AAA if you car breaks down, or walking in the freezing cold to find help.

The BlackBerry Z30 has a 2880mAh battery which the manufacturer claims has been optimized so that the battery on the phone lasts 50% more than the competition. The BlackBerry Q10 is equipped with a 2100mAh cell. And one last note. You might recall that Samsung changed the color on its messaging application from black on white to the reverse. This was done because white eats up battery life on a Super AMOLED screen faster than Wimpy eats himself through a stack of burgers.
