HTC is bringing its Sense Home 8 to non-HTC Android devices, closed beta kicking off today

HTC has many of its own apps decoupled on the Play Store, which allows it to quickly and conveniently send out updates without releasing a full system update. There's another added benefit to this - decoupled apps can be subsequently made available for a wider selection of phones, not only HTC ones. One of the more popular such apps is HTC Zoe, which allows you to shoot and create artistic short videos on any compatible Android device.

It looks like HTC is poised to bring its Sense Home 8 to non-HTC Android devices soon. It will be available as a closed beta for select users that are running Android 4.4 or newer. Sadly, we can't help you become a beta tester for Sense Home 8 - HTC is choosing users on its own.

If you are among the lucky ones, expect to receive an email in the following days. If you receive an invitational email, don't make up your mind for too long - testers will be treated as per the "First come, first serve" principle! Actually, here's an example email:

As a reminder, Sense Home 8 its newest stock launcher that is currently making the rounds on the HTC 10. One of its rather interesting features are the Freestyle layouts, which allow users to place app icons, widgets, and stickers wherever they want on the home screens and also customize their appearance. This makes Sense 8 one of the more customizable stock launchers out there. We have a handy guide detailing Freestyle layouts in-depth right here.

So, do we able to download their freestyle theme just like any other launcher?

That what i concern, as far as I know that the theme is integrated as part of the ROM, not the launcher, if they don't allow to do so.... Well, kinda lost it point, LOL.

I enjoyed it for a while when I updated my sense home on the play store, but I got bored with it easily and just reverted it back to the way it were

I was chosen, but I can't take part because I traded my Galaxy S6 in for an HTC 10, ironically.
