HTC U 11 video teaser released ahead of May 16 unveil

HTC has already confirmed it will announce its next flagship smartphone on May 16. The device will be launched on the market as HTC U 11, but we have yet to learn when exactly it will be available and how much it will cost.

Since HTC can't tell us too much about the upcoming U 11 handset, the Taiwanese company released a video teaser that emphasizes on the smartphone's unique touch-sensitive edges that can interpret gestures into various actions.

The HTC U 11 allows users to “squeeze” it in order to take advantage of this unique gesture system, so the video teaser released today highlights exactly that.

According to the latest rumors, the HTC U 11 will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Also, the flagship is said to boast a 5.5-inch display with quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

There's no mention of a dual-lens camera on the back, though reports claim the U 11 will come with a 12-megapixel rear-facing snapper and a secondary 16-megapixel selfie shooter. More importantly, the phone will be powered by a massive 4,000 mAh battery.

Another piece of information that we've been able to learn is the fact that HTC U 11 will be available in five colors at launch: black, white, blue, red, and silver. With less than a month left until the phone's official unveil, HTC will most likely continue to release teasers to maintain the hype.

Not joking at all. If I was, I would've put the /s at the end as a disclaimer.

Could be smart or could be a disaster depending on how it's implemented.

HTC is done like dinner. Might as well just try and be Google's official bit ch. Although if Google was smart they would drop HTC like a ton of bricks and see if they can just get Samsung to build a GS8 with google software and call it the pixel 2. Or if Samsung passes, get LG to slap google software on the LG G6 and call it the Pixel 2.

It's an awesome teaser, very nice, but I'm skeptical for the phone.

HTC is known for taking a step back from their previous devices but hopefully they will just improve on 10 and create another great handset!

Oh no HTC is going to push some pointless squeeze the sides gimmick like the whole edge screen thing. Why can't you just make an awesome bezeless, decent stock Android phone HTC, you used to be legends of design.

Eager to see if the HTC 11 turns out to be good enough to turn HTC 's handset business around for the better. I really wish it happens.

It's worth the risk. What else do they have to lose?
