Google's phone site shows the LG Optimus Black as part of Sprint's lineup
Earlier today, we saw a couple of smartphones mentioned as coming to Sprint after they were spotted in a leaked roadmap, but now we’re getting additional confirmation regarding one of them.

This time around, one of our tipsters manages to shed some light on the rumored LG Optimus Black that’s believed to be heading to the Now network some time in October. Checking out Google’s phone web site and filtering things down to Sprint’s selection, we find the LG Optimus Black included with the current lineup – showing further proof that Sprint is actually going to get it. Furthermore, when looking at the LG Optimus Black specs page, Sprint is blatantly listed in the list of operators carrying the handset.

Taking into account that Google’s phone web site is showing the obvious, it further substantiates that Sprint customers might soon be able to experience this beloved Android powered smartphone in the very near future. Let’s hope it all pans out correctly in the end!

Thanks Griffin!

I own this phone. It has very good battery life (two days of normal use, and 3 days with light usage) and a fabulous screen, perfect on daylight.

I dont understand the appeal of this phone. The only selling point is a really nice screen. I read reviews of the GSM version, its pretty average. I notice that most of the reviews complain about call quality. I hope Sprint can fix that.

as a customer and critic of sprint i think this is a great addition to their lineup. its not the technical beast that the galaxy s 2 is but its a great alternative if the gs2 "variant" ends up being butchered as sprint has been known to do. or for those that are plain sick of waiting. i just want something thinner, lighter and better battery life than my evo and this phone looks to fill that void nicely. i like this design better than the hero 4g.

Too little too late.. Just like the GSII, it's old.

I wouldnt be surprised if this phone starts out around $100 with contract. Its true its not a Galaxy, but at least it fits in above the regular Optimus and maybe the echo.
