Galaxy S6 edge Plus to be announced in the coming weeks?

According to hdblog.it, a Galaxy S6 Plus is being primed for an announcement in the coming weeks. Allegedly, Samsung called this one "Project Zero 2" internally, but this will actually be a larger version of the Galaxy S6 edge, which will retain the dual curved screen edges. Other ties to the Note line-up, such as S-Pen functionality, haven't been mentioned.
What's essentially a Galaxy S6 edge "Grand" strikes us as a rather odd product choice from Samsung, especially considering the rumors of a dual-edged Galaxy Note 5 announcement in September. While the latter sounds logical, the former is plain weird, but Samsung wouldn't release such a thing if it didn't make sense inside the company.
With this in light, the Galaxy Note 5 is still expected to show up around the IFA Conference in September, wielding a thin profile, an S Pen, and possibly a 4K resolution display. The rumored spec sheet has already made the successor to the Galaxy Note 4 one of the most hyped smartphones this year, with virtually no advertisement from Samsung.

HTC have been releasing plus variants of its flagship since 2012. PS. You do realize this just a rumour, right ? Trolling Samsung based on a rumour started by tech sites is a bit shallow, don't you think ?

Yeah, just doing exactly what Android Flock does with every rumor about Apple... I already explained to YOU specifically: I'm only doing this to balance the Apple Hater comments. I do not hate Android or Samsung or their users... Just bringing up a mirror to their face... You should see this by now (you do read my other comments - the real ones, right? or just this garbage that I post?)

Well, there's no point of posting anything meaningful anymore on PA.. so I quit.. I see good posts being deleted from me and others on both sides... and this whole forum is a huge joke... Extreemly upset.. so -- there you have it: I post something without bias - no replies, no comments, but if I post this garbage - it's flooded with replies, granted they're hateful - but it's something to do... I would love to get into a normal conversation on things I find annoying in Apple and things I find great on Android, but Android Flock take those, multiply by 10x and throw it back into opposition..

If there's a NOTE EDGE 2, what's the point of Samsung Galaxy S6 PLUS? Just speculating the naming logic - is it because Apple's up for iPhone 6S Plus? I do like NOTE as a better name than PLUS (Never liked it for the iPhone either)...

U better stop, instead keeping write nonsens nad makes uself as a fool. Samsung Galaxy S Plus released at 2011 and when did Apple released a Iphone Plus naming phone? If anyone is copying the naming, than its Apple who copied Samsungs naming on phones with Iphone 6 Plus. Wont even bother go into Note series, since u got no clue why its called Note.

That makes sense, actually... didnt think about the s-pen. So it's not the size that makes it a "Note" it's the S-Pen? Betting on the fact that this will probably be about the same price as a Note Edge, why would someone buy this instead of the Note Edge...

"Why not Note Edge, oh right... monkey see, monkey do" So Apple copied bigger display phones from Samsung so it makes Apple and all the iFans who buy iP6 + monkeys?? nuff said and thanks for the clarification :)

So, to throw the words from one Apple Hater to another: So, Samsung trademarked bigger screens? they own anything above 4"? Wow... All, I'm saying is I think the WEIRD naming scheme to EDGE is specifically because of iPhone Plus and public preception - with NOTE EDGE there's really no need for this. You're welcome to discuss/disagree... regarding this idea...

Right, that's why my brother owns a Galaxy S Plus from, wait for it, 2011 (which was followed by the S2 plus, etc.) The Apple monkey saw, the Apple monkey did? There already is a Note Edge and the Note series has its release scheduled in fall, as usual. The "Note" moniker has always implied S-Pen. This will probably not have one. It's that simple.

Yeh but theres one difference... No one knows about Galaxy S Plus, but every consumer knows about Apple's "PLUS"... (it is a stupid name). I bet you if Apple called their larger sized iPhone Apple 6 "BIG", Samsung would probably call it the same, based on the recent developments: Samsung ditched almost all of its hardware differentiation to go all in on iPhone 6-style design — though layering in, iPhone 4-like, with glass on both sides (from another source). And then there's these:http://samsungcopiesapple.tumb
I know this is all matter of opinion, but extreeme similarities are there, and it's beyond a coincidence, and if this "Plus" name is to be true - this adds to the point. Could it be that Samsung wants its mobile success back like it had back in the day? Could it be that Samsung indirectly admits that Apple's concepts are where success is?
I welcome your counterpoints...

Yes, don't they know that Apple invented the number 6 and patented or? ! Why can't Samsung so original things the way Apple does, like Apple Pay, or notification shades? Or one handed mode? Or Air drop? Or quick settings toggles?

Well, why do you think they called it "PLUS"?

Because they've been using the Plus name for years with bigger phones. But, suddenly Apple does it, too, and now everyone is copying Apple. Honestly, this is why people can't stand extremist Apple fans.
