Galaxy Note 4: all the official images
The Galaxy Note 4 turned out to be a pretty remarkable device, throwing together the latest and best pieces of mobile technology currently available. Its design, however, keeps the same Note tradition we are used to since the line's inception, but with a twist, and a couple of notable differences.

The Note 4, for example, ditches the all-plastic construction, and introduces a classy stainless steel frame all-around, reminiscing of the premium Galaxy Alpha handset before it. The phablet, however, keeps the soft-touch faux leather battery cover from its predecessor, and the fingerprint  and heart rate sensor from the S5, placing the camera and stylus exactly where we remember and expect to find them on a Galaxy Note. Check it out from all angles in the slideshow below with Samsung's official imagery collection.

It's an awesome phone! I just need clarity on the dust/water proofing. Is it dust/water proof? All the spec sheets on PhoneArena.com claims it. I just didn't hear that in the presentation.

Yes by far the Samsung Galaxy Note 4's camera is the BEST there is on a mobile phone. It has BOTH Smart OIS & the ISOCELL sensor all at 16MP. YES the camera is SUPER! +1

i doubt it is. i think this is Samsung making alternative selling points between their two flagship phones so that S5 sales don't falter like S4 sales did. the S5 will be the cheaper, slightly more compact alternative for more active people and the Note 4 will be the premium option for people that don't take a whole lot of risks with their phones.

My wife has the S5 & the S5's back is exactly like the one on the Note 4. The speaker grill look identical to the S5. So I am thinking it might be the same cause it's water/dust proof. Well I am hoping it is... lol

i had the S5 and i promise you it's not the same. the S5 has a perforated, softer look and the Note 4 has a more leather-y back more akin to the Note 3. speakers are however identical. what you'll want to look for is a video of someone taking the back off to see if the underside of the back has that protective strip that prevents water from getting into it. i think the Verge took the back off in their hands-on and there's no protective flap on the Note 4 which is also something that's also against it being truly element resistant. sorry to burst your bubble but it sounds like that's just the way Samsung wanted things. if you need that level of resistance go with the S5.

yes they got the bandaid version :) I'm pretty sure they produce only 50 of it, and use it as marketing strategies because it make people talk :)

WHAT THE F man? Why did Samsung put the speakers in the back again? The side is bearable but seriously? What if I was to talk to you with my back facing you? Does this make sense? HTC is the only company that got it right. Literally. Stupid morons.

thats the only feature which I miss in samsung, they should adopt dual speakers to make it truely multimedia device along with a business device

but I give 9.3 for that front cam resolution + the display. 8 for bezel, oops it looks like iPhone. No prob sammy, you just need new designer instead of copying iPhone's bezel :)

I have to admit, Samsung really nailed it on the hardware this time...But is the software the same as the S5? As far as I can remember, Touchwiz on the S5 is downright terrible and will bog this phone down the same way Touchwiz does to the S5 over time...

touchwiz on note series is always better than S series... for example S4 vs note 3... note is always a business class device along with fully multimedia device... where as S series is less towards professional front

I like it, it kind of looks like a bigger Galaxy Alpha with the same metal band design. The thing I hate thou his the front, it gas some sort of dotted pattern on the bezels around the screen. Looks horrible, wish it was just smooth.

Why the hell would they want the back to look like an old womens purse. I'm very disappointed Samsung, you wont be getting my money this time.

Same very stupid not accurate hard to use fingerprint sensor. 3-4 hours of screen-on time on that battery (crank the backlight up and you'll get only 2 - 2½ h of screen-on time) . No water/dust resistant. Ugly front and back (but I love the metal frame shape -the slightly thick corners-). Speaker on the back of the phone AGAIN. Too heavy Touchwiz (full of gimmicks but some pretty nifty features too).

but why USB 2.0 after using 3.0 in previous note ??

27. KingKurogiii

Posts: 5713; Member since: Oct 23, 2011

because they were having issues with the 3.0 port. we get calls about it at Verizon Tech all the time. the port and the charger.

1) Downgraded from USB 3.0 to 2.0 2) Not compatible with microSD 128GB 3) Cheap chinese plastic for back cover 4) KitKat 4.4 ? Seriously.... ? I'll stick with my Note 3.. at least i got USB 3.0 for f**k sake !

as no.4, what do you want then? 2.3 Gingerbread? actually it is 4.4.4 to be precise...

4.4.2 - 4.4.3 - 4.4.4 whatever... Kitkat 4.4 was released on October 31 2013... thats about a year, how about some decent software upgrade ? I mean you can push in all sort of gimmicks like QHD, 16 or even 20 mpx, SnapDragon 805 or 810... but if UI software sucks then the entire phablet experience will suck. regardless. I know its Google making the OS but you cant expect people spending 750$ for the same piece of software over and over. Thats an indicator of decadency. As a company, if you are powerful enough, you EITHER postpone the rollout of your flagship until a newer and better OS is ready OR you go hard-knocking on Google's door and tell them to wake up and get new things prepared for Sep 3rd. I dont even want to mention Apple, cos im a loyal Android user and supporter but lets be frank on this, Google's software research and development is ridiculous. just ridiculous. Samsung and all the major manufacturers know that and its no secret that Samsung relationship with Google has been tense becos of that. As a big fan of the Note phablet, all i wanted was a bit more attention to the software development and stability/functionality. I mean Touchwiz is not all that bad as long as you stick with the pre-installed apps but as you install more apps the whole Kitkat system becomes slow as crap and crashes and net connection drops. All the multitasking thingies is good but only if you have a strong software underneath. this is not the case. You can still buy the Note 4 and later upgrade to Android 5.0 or L. But just like upgrading from Jelly to Kitkat has been a nightmare for most users, the story will be the same for Kitkat to L. Like i said, i stick with my Note 3, waitng for better days...
