so no USB-C to jack :) evil greedy bastards. stop praising them, they've turned into apple, s**t management. edit: it costs apparently ~12$. hahahah, that's insane. so they've saved money in manufacturing by removing a feature and now they sell it back as an accessory at price of 100x more, genius.

First off, 95% of people use the headphones that come with the phone. In addition, at least here in Canada, Its almost impossible to buy this phone without free Galaxy Buds. Providing a dongle that isnt needed isnt too smart.

First off, they give you $150 credit for accessories when you pre order. Galaxy buds are $130. Secondly, by removing the old school jack there's room for more battery. If your that bent up over not having a headphone jack use the dongle. This is 2019 not 1990 geez

Are you sure it isn't actually 2008? My Samsung Omnia from then had only a single port for charging and headphones. Couldn't charge and listen. Yes, this is a step backwards.

But with galaxy phones u can charge and listen. Don't you have a wireless charger? I got 2...both were free. Backwards? Really? In the age where the vast majority of people use wireless headphones? Many of which do sound better than any inbox ones? The headphones in the box actually plug directly into the port? Nothing changed but the connector. I ca n understand with the iPhone at first you couldnt charge and listen. But on Samsung phones you always could and still can. Just don't buy it. You won't be alone. I hate they removed the Jack too. But it's not like they left you hanging like Apple did their customers.

Nope! In box earphones like the AKG sounds way better than the expensive wireless earphones like the airpods and galaxy buds I tried them all and wireless still inferior with analog

Not when there are other Alternatives. Was there another alternative back in 2008? No, so it's not a step backwards.

Losing an option is a step backwards. The option to use most of the high end headphones out there while still being able to connect a wired charger or data connection. I wonder if they skimped on the built in DAC too. After all, what's the point of a built in high end DAC if it's only really used for the built in speakers? The rest uses a digital connection and DAC in the connected device.

M20 doesn't have any tech in it. It's a low end phone

They have a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter on Samsung to be available for sale soon if not already, for $15.

The included headphones are awesome, and cost far more than a dongle. I'd rather have them in the box; I'll shell out $10 for a dongle.

If I were you I would go for a total boycott. Don't buy anything they sell. And definitely never comment again anywhere online about any of their products. That's how you can show them.

The missing headphone jack is the reason I'm skipping the Note 10. I refuse to buy an overpriced product that cannot do as much as its predecessor.

Umm...the 10 can actually do far more than the 9. The headphone jack is now the USB-C port. Ok, technically, you can't wire-charge and listen to corded headphones at the same time on the 10. I'll give you that.

My Note 9 will stay right in my pocket, and my Note 10 will stay in Samsung's warehouse. I'll keep my 3.5mm jack and avoid the stupid hole in the display. The Note 10 is nothing but needless compromises.

I agree.

If it stays in their warehouse how is it yours? SMH. We get it, you love your Note 9. The 10+ is still an upgrade from it though.

Weird. The Note10 will sell by the millions and millions for over a grand. The Note 9 will sell by the thousands for almost 1/2 the price. Strange isn't it.

If the headphones in the box are USB-C (like I understand they are), it's not a big deal to me. It was at first, but when you are forced to do something, you learn to live with it. Doesn't mean I wouldn't still be happy with having the 3.5jack but if I wanted a new phone bad enough, it wouldn't stop me. Throwing in the USB-C headphones AND a dongle is the real way to go about it. Now, you get a pair of headphones that don't require the dongle, but still get the donlge in case you have a pair that you prefer. The reason why the transition is so hard is because everyone is making the jump on their own time. Phone OEMs and headphone makers should have said "hey, we're all going to do this together" instead of this crappy two different dongle-types BS.

Aura glow screams attention seeker to me, but to each their own. I'm waiting on the Aura blue to be delivered.

Waiting on black. Was supposed to have the buds delivered tuesday but i guess theyre backed up? Hopefully we should have the phones by next wednesday/thursday if the trend of early shipping like previous releases continues lol

I don't know about that. But I have seen a few Youtube videos, and the White one seems like the least Fingerprint Magnet.

1. You must not have seen the Aura Glow in person otherwise you wouldn't think that. 2. When you preorder with Verizon it's actually listed as silver, which is how it looks in person.

Honestly, the USB C is NOT an alternative to 3.5mm. 1 - after about of year of use just for charging, it often starts to lose contact due to accumulated particles and grease pressed inside 2 - the output quality is not as good as the dedicated audio jack 3 - you simply cannot use headphones while charging the phone. The other day I had to wait for an hour for my girlfriend to charge up her Mate 10 pro so we can play some PUBG

Tell her to search for a dual-port dongle on Amazon. They're about $15 and let you charge and listen at the same time.

Or she can just buy, "The Double Dongle" that Samsung joked about Apple users needing lol

I used to sell those for Apple. Now, Samsung has the need. But, yes, they are available to those who are about to crumble over this.

95% of charging that I do is done wirelessly. 1 and 3 do not affect me in the least. Number 2 is subjective but again, when 95% of people use the basic headphones in the box, audio quality isnt a factor to be considered.
