Final retail packaging for 10th anniversary iPhone cases show the iPhone 8 moniker?
Last week, we saw a couple of reports concerning the name that Apple will give its tenth anniversary iPhone model. Up to now, everyone has called this device the Apple iPhone 8. Last Friday, we passed along a report stating that this version of the iPhone will actually be called the Apple iPhone Edition. The same rumor mentioned that the sequels to the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus will be named the Apple iPhone 8 and Apple iPhone 8 Plus, respectively.

If that wasn't enough to make your head spin, the very next day another rumor made its way around the water cooler. This time, the speculation had the tenth anniversary iPhone carrying the Apple iPhone X name. This actually has a double meaning that makes sense. The "X" can stand for a premium model, like Motorola intended with the DROID X back in 2010. Or, in the case of the iPhone, the X can be used to indicate that it is the unit's tenth anniversary phone. After all, the Roman numeral for the number 10 is "X."

Tuesday night though, tipster extraordinaire Evan Blass tweeted a pair of images that he says comes from the final box design for two cases intended for the variant of Apple's 2017 iPhone lineup wearing an OLED screen. There is only one such phone expected in 2017, and that is the tenth anniversary iPhone. And since both boxes reveal that the name of the premium iPhone model is the iPhone 8, we are back at square one with six days to go until Apple removes the wrapping off this year's Apple iPhone line. Keep checking in; the drama doesn't get better than this!

This means nothing. I remember when the iPhone 6 came out and we received cases to sell that said "For New iPhone" (The "New iPad" had come out earlier.)

Quote/The "X" can stand for a premium model, like Motorola intended with the DROID X back in 2010/unquote That makes sense, since apple ALSO is about to copy - wireless charging from Nokia Lumia 920 (2012) - AmoLED from Samsung Galaxy S2 (2011) - Iris scanner from lumia1020XL (some years ago) - No bezels screen from Samsung galaxy edge, Lg g6 and so on (some years ago) But I am sure apple will present it as "We were first" And the fan boys will go "Horray Apple" *clapping hysterically* =)

For a site that's apparently obsessed with all things Apple there sure are a lot of Android articles taking up the front page. In fact, I see no less than six articles on the main page that are about Android phones. So where's the nerd rage over that?

Every other one? I mean PA doesn't research any tech, they scour other tech sites for news and then link to them.

This means nothing. A retailer I worked at once got shipped a bunch of "iPad 3" Speck cases. Turned out Apple called it, the "New iPad". Speck had to send reps out with stickers to cover the mistake and correct the labeling. When they couldn't afford the labor, they sent more stickers for store employees to fix it for them. Not saying this is wrong, but we won't know until next week when Apple tells us.

Yet every September you come here... LOLOLOL so when a new phones about to come out, a phone website has articles for it! The anarchy!!! Wait that's right, the Note 8 is the greatest phone of all time and ever single article should be about that "upgrade". The iPhones are coming, they will wow, they will excite and they will destory everyone else in sales. Best be prepared. I don't even care about the new iPhones, I'm just waiting for the Pixel 2 XL, who know what real Android fans buy. Samsung fans are just salty the "greatest phone of all time" was nothing special but a rehash asking for more money. LOLOLOL. The real pain is about to come.

Typical Apple hater. You act as if we don't have two Samsung flagships released before the iPhone every year along with multiple other Android phones. You get one phone event from Apple and you're complaining about the site talking about it?
