Early Bird gets the HTC HD2

Early Bird gets the HTC HD2
We all know that the superstar Windows Mobile device, the HTC HD2, will be launched March 24th at T-Mobile. But a lucky Wallmart customer was able to buy the handset early from the Walmart store in Vancouver, Washington. The store had 4 units and sold at least the one to the gentleman you will meet in the video below. Before everyone starts to make a drive over to their local Walmart to see if they can pry an HD2 loose from the discounter, this is probably one of those times when the stars aligned with the planets perfectly. In other words, someone screwed up at this particular store and you're not likely to find another person working in the electronics section who will put the HD2 in your cart before the 24th no matter how much of a tantrum you make. To prove that the transaction took place, the lucky buyer made a YouTube video of the unboxing. If you ask us, with his luck, he should be heading to his local casino.

lol. if anyone is dying to see it, the retail stores should all have live demos. ive been playing with it. its damn nice. they do alot to mask the fact that its windows. It does have some incredibly UNDERPOWERED speakers though.. im really dissapointed with that. Otherwise, the hardware is beautiful.

Walmart has been selling the phone all weekend for $500. Others over in the T-Mobile.com forums were able to make purchases as well. I am going to see what comes out of CTIA before taking the plunge.

I am keeping my eye on this thing since the HTC Supersonic is gonna be so similar spec wise. Cant wait. They both look like awesome phones but after owning a TP2, I think im gonna go with Android for my next phone.

the TP2... and pretty much every other windows phone... is crap. The HD2 is the first one id actually reccommend to sell. Windows is burried so deep under the HTC Sence and windows 6.5 if it werent for the logos youd never know it was running on windows. If someone rips a perfectly working copy of android to this phone (or they just release an android phone w/ these specs) id be in heaven. But even as it is, its a hell of a phone.
