HTC EVO 4G owners can celebrate, knowing that Popular Mechanics has named their device as one of the 'Top Products of 2010'. Also included in their list is Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor.
The EVO's victory is no surprise, given its status as the first 4G phone. The network capability is the feature most celebrated in the brief review, as they describe 3G as "sluggish and overtaxed". They also celebrate its ability to tether up to 8 devices to the 4G network. While other devices have recently matched many of the EVO's features, the EVO 4G was definitely a game-changer.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor also made the list. It was celebrated for providing impressive 1GHz speeds while allowing "almost-all-day battery life." They also gave a quick shout-out to Qualcomm's 1.5GHz chip we hope to see in 2011.
With the current rate of smartphone innovation, there's no telling what product we'll see at the top of next year's list. Would you have voted for the HTC EVO 4G? If not, then which device should have won?
