Claimed Galaxy S7 Edge pops up with prices and box contents

Claimed Galaxy S7 Edge pops up with prices and box contents
Samsung is being pretty lax with the Galaxy S7 leaks this year, especially in the last two weeks, when we saw it next best thing leak as press renders in three color versions, and in flesh and blood as well. Yesterday Samsung itself revealed the looks of the handset in a prematurely posted promo video, confirming the rumors it will be waterproof and sport wireless charging.

Nothing prepared us for this next leak you see below, though. Someone on Dubizzle (that's Dubai's version of Craigslist) has posted what looks like a real Galaxy S7 Edge for sale, we kid you not. The guy asks the equivalent of $1225 for it, which sounds pretty steep if you are not a Dubai sheikh, but totally worth it for what may turn out to be the best handset of the season that hasn't even been announced yet. "Get before commercial launch, imported from USA," is the post's eye-watering description, and the phone seems to be complete with a bar code and IMEI stickers indeed. The Dubizzle posting also lists the price of a Galaxy S7 at $1144, and the ad title claims that the guy is also selling that one, though it's only the S7 Edge in the pictures, judging from the sloping screen sides.

Adding insult to injury, the classified has shown what will potentially arrive with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge out of the box, despite the fact that the phone is put in a generic-looking carton. We've got a data cable, a wall charger, and a USB adapter, as well as what looks like a small box for a wired headset. Indeed, a quick search returns the EO-EG920BW coding to be the same pair of in-ear headphones that come with the Galaxy S6, so that's what may be packed with the Galaxy S7 as well. All in all, if all recent leaks are correct, it seems that the grand changes with the Galaxy S7 will be under the hood. Any takers?

Thanks for the tip, Rohit!

why are the pics in every leak of average quality. I mean we use phones with amazing cameras!. But somehow, the leaks always end up with morons using some 1.3 megapixel shooter??

If the rumour is to be true and that these are the leaked images, Samsung really didn't learn anything when it comes to customer relations with their products. Customers want something premium, plastic is last decades technology, nowadays it's all about the metal and or Glass/Metal phones. I suppose to integrate Water Resistance, they've had to cut corners for other stuff such as the phone housing. Greedy company, the S7 is following the path of Apple products for real now and their phones will obviously never change in terms of appearance, I even could say that the Phones have reached their maximum in terms of how imaginative they may look. Too bad, I will go with the likes of Sony, that at least have something nice, even though the phone never changed since the first XPERIA.

It is a prototype or a knockoff model from Chinese production. Chinese copies come out much earlier than the real products.

The USB cable packaging is identical to the iPhone one. Companies even copy apples box styles.

I've had old smartphones long before iPhone was invented with USB cables like that.

I don't see how that's possible since Apple invented USB, and power and cables. You must hate Apple.

Nice, say something about apple and all the fandroids bounce like little chickens wanting to rectify the situation. Apple seems to control you guys and not the isheep. Besides even fandroids know that even if apple isn't the first to do something, it does it in a way that all companies copy.

That cable to the left looks an awful lot like a micro-usb one, but then again, the adapter on the right looks like a USB C one. I really hope the S7 comes with USB C.

It does. Guess that would be one way they could get around people complaining about stuff not working with existing cables and accessories. I'm hoping they go USB-C. Samsung usually does A+ tiptop stuff on their flagships.

They both have hooks, leading me to believe that they're not only keeping the micro usb, but also giving people an adapter to transfer data OTG from a previous phone to the S7. When they had the test drive program, they gave out those cables for faster data transfers.
