Check out these claimed Galaxy S8+ live shots in oily Orchid Grey

While we've seen the press renders of an Orchid Grey Galaxy S8+, the real device is a completely different animal, and, quickly enough, someone has posted a few pics on Weibo, claiming to be live shots of the S8+.

The device indeed corroborates all we've seen and heard so far about the new Samsung design and color schemes - it has the curved display, rounded corners, finger scanner on back, and even a live lock screen with the Always-on display notifications front and center. The set also confirms what we saw in the leaked official renders - that all model colors will come with a black front, and only the back and sides will be in the respective hue. What we are a bit miffed about is the writing of the actual model on the back, instead of only "Samsung" as in the leaked pressers. Those were likely of international versions, though, which often have just the Samsung logo on the back.

The US carrier versions, as well as the unlocked S7 and S7 edge models that Samsung currently sells on its web store in the US, have the model splashed across the back, so this may be a US unit, judging also from the FCC ID at the rear, or an engineering sample of sorts. In any case, this particular Orchid Grey unit, whatever it is, seems to have a pretty nasty case of fingerprint magnetism, which is invaluable information that can't be gleaned from any official press render otherwise. We rest our case.

Ladies live iPhones and iPhones only... 52% of world population is ladies. Get the he'll out of here fangirl. iPhone is the best looking well crafted smartphone in the market. Dimensions are the most vital part in a phone design and Apple knows how to do that but Samsung simply does not.

iphones have a design of 2013, they look very old and outdated. Grandma look anyone? Even the chinese and other companies have stoped copying iphones design and started copying Samsung. Even Apple will follow Samsung will all glass, slim bezels, curved display and oled screen.

I think it's funny how much time and money manufacturers put into the exterior design when most people put phones in cases that hide the beauty of they're work. I miss the days of solid soft polycarbonate phones.

This can't be real. Derek Jeter said the phone will be one color front and back. When someone disagreed with him, he called him stupid. With that amount of certainty, I'm going to believe him over my lying eyes. "5. Derekjeter (Posts: 1013; Member since: 27 Oct 2011) Hey stupid, the phones are all one color front and back. Haven't you seen other Samsung phones like the S7. This will be no different. I can tell your a Samsung fan."

that may be true for some colors and not others. They had photos of the blue one the other day and it had a blue face. so who knows for sure until the official unveiling.

That would be nice.

That being said, the "the phones are all one color" statement would be inaccurate and definitely not worth calling someone stupid over.

What is the writer taking about, when he says we are a bit miffed about the actual model on the back instead of just the samsung logo? Last time I checked every samsung phone since I can remember has the model listed on the back, in fact it's the samsung logo that is usually replaced with a carrier logo like vzw and at&t. I believe Sprint and tmobile don't change it tho leave the samsung and model logo on the back

Now that *certainly* looks dark gray under that lighting. Not 'Violet', lilac or purple as other leaked-photos have suggested. But what does it matter? Most will skin or cover-over the device the day they get it.

Good looking device! Gave up on Samsung after using the GSIII, but may be going back with the Note 8 if it looks anything like this.
