Breastfeeding, Vampire and Bearded Man are some of the emoji that could land in Unicode 10

Unicode 9 and all of the latest emoji can be found in Android 7.0. Those using iOS will see it right now in the iOS 10.2 Public Beta. When that build is final and pushed out, iPhone and iPad users will have all of the latest emoji options available to them. But never let it be said that emoji don't keep moving forward. Already Unicode (the keeper of the emoji keys, so to speak) is looking ahead at what to include in Unicode 10.

Some of the emoji that is being looked at include Breastfeeding, Bearded Man, Pretzel, Zebra and more. A total of 51 new images are under consideration for Unicode 10, which will be released in the middle of 2017. As crazy as the list is, there were some emoji that were rejected for use in Unicode 10 including Leafy Greens, Almond, and Face with Lightbulb.

Among the Unicode Consortium members who get to vote on emoji standards are Apple, Google, Microsoft, Huawei, Facebook and Adobe. The Government of India is also a voting member.
