BlackBerry Tour takes off this July on Verizon?
BGR was told by a little Verizon bird that the BlackBerry Tour would be available this July through Verizon. The device, also known as the BlackBerry 9630, is expected to be equipped with the newest 'Berry OS, a QWERTY keyboard, 3G connectivity, a 3.2MP camera, and an improved browser. The preliminary specs reveal a lack of a Wi-Fi radio on the device, which was originally known as the Niagara until reports surfaced about a possible name change. A price of $199 on a two year contract seems credible. While not a touch-phone, the Tour improves on things that owners of the Storm have complained about. The QWERTY keyboard might be seen as a step up over the touchscreen model's SurePress virtual QWERTY, and having the trackball back is something that long term 'Berry fans wanted to see after having problems navigating with RIM's first touchscreen device. Throw in newer OS build plus browser and this may well turn out to be a real Magical Mystery Tour for all BlackBerry fans.

Well if the iphone is such a great phone, and AT&T such a great provider why wont ANY company insure the iphone. Heck not only the iphone but ANY phone AT&T carries. Hummm how strange. So I guess that means that if you damage your 16g iphone and want another one cha ching 250.00 + tax please. Guess Big Red isnt the money hungry one.

It's funny how you guys manage to tie everything back to the iPhone. All I wanted to do was read about the blackberry tour but here we are discussing iPhone again. Anyways I personally don't have to worry about insurance because I'm not 2 years old anymore. I know that water + any phone equals a no-no and that I should always have my phone in a protected case and in my pocket when outdoors. With these things in mind I shouldn't have to worry about insurance, but I understand that things can happen still.

Verizon Bold... hmmm would be tempting to get over my Curve... tho the Curve 2 specs seem a bit better than this and worth waiting for. (Not sure the cpu, memory specs on the Curve 2, but the resolution is slightly higher, and the newer of the blackberrys) And why compare it to the Storm? If you did not like the Storm get a Curve. How is TouchSCreen QWerty = Physical buttons? No touch screen compares perfectly to its physical counterpart. Why would I want to see a trackball? Maybe update and fix the touch screen related issues if its a common problem? Most people I know are happy with their Storm. Improved Browser and updated OS is nice. We shall see once its out.
