BlackBerry Q10 outsells the Apple iPhone 5, HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 in France
Not to disparage the whole country, but the people in France have always been a bit...different. How else do you explain the fact that Jerry Lewis is considered a comedic icon in the country even when the comedian's own country turned its back on him. Now, French carrier SFR says that the BlackBerry Q10 is outselling all of the other smartphones in its lineup. That includes models like the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One and the Apple iPhone 5, three models that have a large number of fans globally. Other models being outsold by the AZERTY equipped BlackBerry Q10 include popular phones like the Sony Xperia Z and the Samsung Galaxy S III.

The second largest carrier in France, SFR has over 21 million subscribers. And many of them are obviously BlackBerry fans. Consider that the all-touch BlackBerry Z10, which was released in February by the carrier, is outselling the Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G and the Apple iPhone 5. Pricing could have something to do with these results. The Apple iPhone 5 has a price tag of 169 EUR ($219 USD) on contract while the BlackBerry Q10 is priced at 59.99 EUR ($78 USD) on contract. But on the other hand, the HTC One is priced at the same level as the Q10 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 is only 20 EUR ($26) more expensive.

This has to be putting a smile on the face of BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins, who hopes that the reaction to the BlackBerry Q10 in the U.S. comes close to its reception in France.
