Asus Zenfone 5Z goes on sale in Europe with a limited-time discount
Nearly four months after its official announcement back at MWC 2018, Asus’ 2018 flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 5Z, is finally available to purchase in Europe, and the company is even throwing in a limited-time discount.

Via the Taiwan-based company’s official website, consumers will be able to get their hands on two different variants that differ quite a bit in price. Competing directly against the OnePlus 6, which starts at €519 in Europe, the standard ZenFone 5Z is currently being sold for €499.99. However, due to a €50 rebate that Asus is including with any purchases placed before July 15, the smartphone can be had for just €449.99, making it the cheapest smartphone currently on sale with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 on the inside. Speaking of which, this particular variant couples the processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, if this configuration isn’t sufficient, an upgraded model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage can be had for €599.99, or €549.99 after the rebate.

Aside from the memory and processor details, the Asus ZenFone 5Z offers a large 6.2-inch display complete with a small notch up top that is home to an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. Over on the rear, a dual-camera setup has been added and is comprised of a main 12-megapixel lens and a secondary 8-megapixel one. Also, all of this is backed up by Android 8.1 Oreo complete with ZenUI 5.0 overlay on top, and a 3,300mAh battery.

I don't see this competing with 1+6 tbh. 1+6 superior software experience and updates plus camera is better. But good try from Asus.

How do you know the camera is better? I hear many people say the OnePlus 6 camera isn't that great. DxoMark gave it a great score, and there are many real-life shots that are displayed all across YouTube.

DxoMArk is not benchmark anymore and should be taken with a pinch of salt and pepper. Real life images are. From what I saw 1+6 improved very much with 6 iteration. On the other hand Asus has never produced great shooter smartphones.Just saying.

I also didn't stop at the DxoMark. I also referenced the real world results. Additionally the DxoMark reviews does allow you to actually look at the pictures taken from each smartphone and judge the quality yourself.

OP6 camera is miles better than 5T. I have seen many samples, in many of them results were better than P20 or Pixel 2. Other shots were worse.

Zenfone 3 released with Marshmallow, and get Oreo update.. Zenfone5 got 13th place in current DxOrank, just under Note8 and iPhone 8.. I'm not sure if 1+6 have better camera than this one..

It's need good record for keeping software updates. Just keep in mind 1+6 can do a lot more in terms of updates since they only 2 flagship a yer coming out. Regarding camera let's keep an eye on comparisons.

... and it's still going to break in 3 months, like every other Asus phone. Asus mobile phone QC is apallingly bad, unfortunately. Wish they made their phones like they make their motherboards: reliable and built to last.

Lol, the award for longest wait from announcement to release. I bet they will still fail to release it properly in the UK...

It's normal for ASUS to announce new phones in January, and release it in Q3.. This one is much faster compared to Zenfone Zoom which hit market 1 year after announcement.
