Apple's iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are now available at a decent discount in refurbished condition
While it’s definitely getting harder and harder to justify iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus purchases at their full retail prices of $599 and up, there’s exactly a zero chance that Apple will be overwhelmed by the gift-giving spirit anytime soon.

Even Target is only gearing up to offer free $150 gift cards with activations of 2018 iPhones on Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint for Black Friday, but you can actually save some cash right now by buying the 8 or 8 Plus unlocked... and certified refurbished.

The two thick-bezeled, fingerprint-scanning devices are the latest additions to Apple’s official refurbished program in the US, starting at $499. That’s not exactly an earth-shattering discount for 64GB iPhone 8 variants available in gold, silver, and space gray color options, but it’s certainly better than nothing.

Specifically, it’s $100, or 16 percent, off list price, and refurbs sold directly by Apple online include the same 1-year warranty as unused, untouched “iGadgets.” Technically, these are of course pre-owned units, but at first glance, it’s going to be virtually impossible to notice that.

You get a brand new battery, a new outer shell, and even a new white box, not to mention Apple’s solemn promise of 100 percent proper functionality. The refurbished iPhone 8 Plus is similarly sold at a $100 discount, fetching $599 instead of $699 with 64GB storage space and an assortment of available paint jobs.

Unfortunately, no 256GB configurations are up for grabs with any sort of a markdown... yet. Keep in mind supply is limited (sometimes, very limited for freshly added items), and yes, there’s a good chance official iPhone X refurbs are now coming soon as well.
