The iPhone XR costs just $449 when you trade-in an older model (limited time)
Apple iPhone XR

Less than a week after Apple’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals finished, the Apple Giveback program was announced. This offers up to $100 extra trade-in credit towards a new iPhone when an older model is replaced.

Technically, this promotion does Apply to the iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR. But from Apple’s latest website modifications it’s clear that the main focus is shifting iPhone XR units – it’s now being advertised at just $449 on the official website.

Accompanying this promotional price is a small asterisk that requires the trade-in of an iPhone 7 Plus. But obviously, not everybody has that particular model. So, here’s a breakdown of how much the new iPhone XR costs when you trade-in any old model:

  • iPhone 6 – iPhone XR price of $599
  • iPhone 6 Plus – iPhone XR price of $549
  • iPhone 6s – iPhone XR price of $549
  • iPhone 6s Plus – iPhone XR price of $499
  • iPhone 7 – iPhone XR price of $499
  • iPhone 7 Plus – iPhone XR price of $449
  • iPhone 8 – iPhone XR price of $449
  • iPhone 8 Plus – iPhone XR price of $399
  • iPhone X – iPhone XR price of $249

Apple itself clearly mentions that this offer is for a limited time only but fails to actually specify the length of time that it will be available. Because of this, we’d recommend purchasing the iPhone XR as soon as possible since the offer could end at any time. However, if you are rocking the iPhone X we wouldn’t exactly recommend the upgrade. Similarly, if you currently have an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus in your pocket, the switch probably isn’t worth it either.

Surprisingly people are still buying more XS Max model, i would have expected XS sales with smaller form factor will get closer and closer, but it looks like Max just keeps selling better, which as a company for Apple is of course great thing.

Anyone trading in a iPhone plus model for the iPhone XR is crazy, and they clearly don't know their head from their butt. Especially a 6s plus, 7 plus or 8 plus for the much lower resolution single camera iPhone XR. Plus no 3D touch on the XR. What idiot would trade in an iPhone 6s plus and still pay $500 for the iPhone XR? If they do, then those individuals will believe anything Apple tells them is great. Those individuals are truly suckers. I guess that sales motto is in full effect for Apple 'A sucker is born every minute'.

Not when you compare the combine sales of Samsung flagships

You secretly love Samsung so much you have to bring them up in every non Samsung article. So butt hurt that apple is not doing so good.

The garbage is not selling, so apple is trying everything to pass off its trash unto gullible folks.

I wouldn't call it garbage. Have you ever even checked one out for yourself?

It’s faster and better than most of “Android flagship” out there. Btw, what would you call something worse than “garbage”?

Anyone that would trade in a 8, 8+ or a x on this phone needs a brain check. The 3 are way better phones then the xr.

Or they could just want a phone that has current gen hardware with Face ID, and the X is excluded from that of course. As for the X, I disagree on that point too. The Xr is the perfect in between size between the X(S) and the XS Max. It's a way to have a bigger display without having a much bigger phone.

iPhones series 7 and latter are worth more than Apple's trade-in allowances. If you have a 6/6s series phone, then it's worth trading in. Otherwise, you're getting ripped off.

Yeah, just wait until Apple “jumps the shark” and starts dabbling with holes in displays, bendable phones, and corner notches. Then they’ll look truly desperate. Oh, wait, that is another company doing that.

Oh you forgot that experiment will bear the fruit of innovation. Unlike the other company that rip off other's invention and call it their own then tag it "best ever". "Liquid retina display"anyone? Lmao. Oh and bought a good stuff from the other company then called "super retina display". LMAO!!!!!!

I like you! You tell it like it is. Be careful though they will start whining like pigs, when they argue a good point.

Anyone who would trade an 8 or an X for a. Xr, needs to be slapped until their brains start working. What's so funny too is, the XR has a 6.1" display, bigger than the 5.5" displays on the older plus models, but they took 1080p away and went down to 720p. And yet increases the price? And every single Apple fan has praised this? But if this was even rumored to be happening with Samsung or Google, or any Android OEM, there was have been an article from each writer here about it.

I'm pretty happy with my X so no thanks Apple, when the XR's price lowers to $499 I may think to tell my GF to change her 6s+ for that one, in the meantime, she's fine with her phone.
