Apple begins free bumper program
Happy days are here for owners of the Apple iPhone 4. If you are having problems with the dreaded "left handed death grip", you can request a free bumper from Apple that is expected to prevent your body from de-tuning the two antenna. First, you need to download the iPhone 4 Case Program app from the App Store. Once you have installed it, open up the app and sign in using your iTunes store account or Apple ID and select which case you want. Those who purchased their handset before July 23rd must respond by August 22, otherwise you must apply within 30 days after buying your iPhone 4. Any model purchased after September 30 will not qualify for a free case.

If you have already purchased a bumper from Apple, the Cupertino based firm will give you a full refund. In fact, those who paid via credit card should already have received credit and it might take one billing cycle to appear on your statement. For those who paid using cash or a check, return to the store by September 30th with your receipt, and you will get a refund. A new gift card will be automatically sent to those who used a card to buy the bumper and if you bought the protection from an AT&T store, click on this link to print out a rebate coupon that you should send to Apple with a copy of your receipt by September 30th. If you want to return the iPhone 4, bring it in undamaged to any Apple retail store or mail it to the online store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. If you purchased the device from an AT&T store, return the phone at any one of the carrier's retail stores for a refund. AT&T will not charge a re-stocking fee for the return.
