Android 5.0 for the SM-N9005 version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 leaks; download it now!
Own the unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3? The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the device has leaked, and is available from XDA. The developers forum has the version of the update designed for the SM-N9005 model of the device. Besides the features that Android 5.0 bring, the phablet will also be receiving the redesigned TouchWiz UI.

You will definitely need to back up your data before starting the process. All of the information on how to flash the update can be found on the XDA website, which you can get to by clicking on the sourcelink. The update weighs in at a rather hefty 1.1GB, and you should keep in mind that the first time you boot up your device after completing the task, your phone will take longer than usual to start up. The Android 5.0 start-up wizard should be the first application you see.

There is the risk that if you don't know what you're doing, you could end up bricking your Galaxy Note 3. This isn't the time to play hero. If you're not sure what you're doing, you know that Sammy will eventually send the final build to your phone with an OTA update. And you best be sure that you own the SM-N9005 model of the phablet. The update will not work on any other version of the device.

Curse AT&T and their locked bootloader. Forever stuck on 4.4.2 if we want to keep root....

I feel your pain Immensely. 3 dam months later and still no root for my AT&T Note 4. Truly disgusting. Locked bootloaders. Ugh.

the Note 4 is not as popular as the Note 3, so that's the reason why there's no leaked ROM for your phone

Note 4 will go directly with the 5.01 or the 5.0.2, Chill.

My Note 3 on Verizon needs an update to eliminate that dreaded low signal issue on 4.4.

Those that hoping to try out ART runtime will be disappointed. Still fixed on Dalvik runtime. Note 3 32GB, 24.76B is free to user. So they are use 7.24GB for System Rom. Hoping Samsung will keep their System ROM size under 4GB. Not impossible as XiaoMi only use 2GB for their System ROM.

what the hell?????????? how come? it is impossible!!! man run an AnTuTu and you will definitely see a boost in the "runtime" score

Actually there no great loss. ART is still buggy under TouchWiz. Currently only Note 4 can switch to ART runtime. Note 3 My Magazine still there and some of Note 4 unique feature such as their new multi windows and improved pen select did make its way to Note 3 Lollipop. AnTuTu BenchMark v5.5 = 43009

Well had it now for a day and here's my take. Battery life is definitely worse. I mean substantially. The amount of running processes are just unbelievable as well. Don't blame Touchwiz either guy's, I can easily tell what's related to TW and what isn't. There's so much crap running. I do not notice a difference with apps launching, or lag. Everyone complains about bloatware, I think Android itself is bloat.

I don't think your sentence is fair, my Note 3 still has about 78% charge since yesterday 6pm. I always maintenance good battery by swapping between my main and spare battery each month.

No root yet. After using it for two days, the battery life is neither better nor worst than Kit Kat.
