Honestly, I'm really considering the G4 Plus as my next phone. My 1st gen Moto X is starting to show its age.

The G4 Play is just the G(2015) in a new case. With the G4s being released, the G Turbo would probably get a price cut and that would be a sweet sweet deal.

Where the speaker at? Front, back, or bottom?

The speakerphone will also serve as the speaker for media I think. Not weird since the Moto X Style uses dual front speakers and the top one is for calls too.
