6 well-hidden Galaxy S6 features that are actually awesome
Samsung trimmed down and streamlined the Android-based TouchWiz user interface of the Galaxy S6 significantly, but seeing as how its software has traditionally been feature-rich, it should be no surprise to hear that it still has quite a few tricks up its sleeve. When there's an abundance of features, however, there's also a good chance that some of them drop from users' radars, even if only because they disregarded that first 'Did you know'-style prompt when they were first setting up their Galaxy S6, and then forgot all about what it had to say.

Certainly, we've already come across Galaxy S6 owners that aren't aware of one of the more widely publicized, new feature of the Samsung flagship — Quick Launch. With it, you get near instantaneous access to the camera, regardless of what you're doing at the moment. It's one of the best features Samsung has baked into its software, period.

But the list of seemingly hidden, inconspicuous pockets of functionality aren't exhausted with just Quick Launch. There are a bunch more to be found. Here they are:

in fact fast and easy camera access has been around some phones (notably Symbian and Windpws Phone) far longer. Amazing how something so trivial suddenly becomes "a Galaxy S6 feature that is actually awesome".

It's not confirmed yet, and Sammy's CEO has denied the claims.

I'd rather have a camera shutter button that you can take pictures with when the camera app isn't actively open, rather than a double tap the home.

Unfortunately, you are one of the only people that want this. Most people want to see what will be in the frame before shooting. Anyway, see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Mp01eg0-ZM It might be helpful for your case.

Nah, my Z3c has it, and it's very handy, because it first takes a picture and then the app opens. It has an extra wide sensor so almost 99% of the shots are good without seeing the frame. It's very handy for quicksnaps of my baby nephew doinf something random :)

I agree with you... with my Acro S I always used Quick Capture... Right now with my Z3 Compact I actually went back to just Launching the camera app because I like to launch it and fiddle with settings a lot... so I don't want many unnecessary pictures... But Quick Capture IS actually very good and many pictures I take Blindly comes out just as good. also the dedicated Camera Button is great for underwater pictures (a lot better than using the volume button)... And finally as a plus for me... the First Stage of the shutter button (focusing) can be set as a Physical button for Emulators... I use this when I don't carry my DualShock controller and play with PPSSPP games using the Focusing as the "R" or "L" button, or even other key depending on the game.

If the extra $100 isn't an issue for you then go for the edge, looks so much better IMHO :)

Looks good, but apparently isn't so nice to hold.

I have the edge and I ordered the Ringke Fusion clear case from Amazon and it really makes the phone hand friendly. I can grasp the sides without worrying about interfering with the edges of the screen. The case keeps the phone slim and I can still admire the beauty of the phone...

if I'd buy one of the 2 I'd go for the normal s6 as watching movies is better on it. If you don't watch a allot of movies the edge could be an option.

That's the reason why Samsung is number one. It provides extra features that others can't do. Plus the exceptionally advanced hardware makes S6 and edge the best smartphones right now. 2 new colors have been released blue and green now:http://samsungtomorrow.com/%EA%B0%A4%EB%9F%AD%EC%8B%9C-s6%C2%B7s6-%EC%97%A3%EC%A7%80-%EC%8B%A0%EA%B7%9C-%EC%83%89%EC%83%81-2%EC%A2%85-%EC%B6%9C%EC%8B%9C

LOL. Are you trying to be funny here? Why the heck would America gives money to Samsung for its R&D? Even a 5 years old kid has more common sense than you. LOL Let me tell you again, Japanese technology fell behind Korean one long time ago. Go search which is the world's largest shipbuilder, construction engineering, nano tech, TVs, semiconductor, memory....

Well no sir ... Samsung doesn't need supporthttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Afpey7Eldo You must be japanese :D

I'm not japanese i'm just don't like troll or someone to look down other peoples. and i think some fanboy are moron why i'm so sure about japanese heavy industry. Becuz i looked the forbes website for a brand value. One more thing......Creative success japanese still has a lot of more than south korea. Lean production is a great evidence and samsung used this theory too.

Samsung this time is a failure in thier galaxy s series. the sleekest but yet empty device is what people consider thier premium phones. It lacks so many features and options which a $100 phone from a different brand has, so what u talkin abou?
