6 high-end smartphones to look forward to in the second half of 2016
If you're in the market for a new high-end smartphone, but you're not impressed by what's been released until now in 2016, there are still plenty of handsets to look forward to this year. In fact, dare we say, if you're not in too much of a hurry, whenever you want to purchase a new high-end phone - be it a flagship or not - it's probably always better to try and wait for the second half of each year. This way, you'll have more options to choose from, thus the probability of getting a device more suited to your needs is higher. With that in mind, let us remind you of some high-end smartphones that are bound to be introduced in the second half of 2016. Now, we're not just going to name these handsets. We'll also talk about what they're expected to offer, and when they might be launched. Check it out:

I'm waiting for next compact sony flagship to replace my z5 compact. Xperia x performance does not meet my interest.

OnePlus is coming back from the dead from the "flagship killer 2016" Oneplus 2 (Jesus, it wasn't even a 2015 killer lmao) and the Note 6 with 6GB RAM will slay the competition.

I dont ever fill my 8GB of RAM of my Laptop and I occasionally work with 3D Modeling and intensive software, and google services through chrome... i dont see how 6GB of RAM is any different to 4 or even 3GB on a smartphone for the use we can currently give them (and I am a very Heavy user)... so i see this 6GB RAM BS as a way to charge more to end users without tangible benefits, just like 2K and 4K on screens smaller than 5.5".

I've filled 8GB RAM on my Surface Pro 2, but that's with intense multi-tab browsing where I'd open multiple unread articles/tutorials of multiple sites in new tabs in preparation to have my device read them to me...I've also done that on my OnePlus One; got to 100+ tabs, but of course it refreshed when switching between them.

We've hit a ceiling and there's not much left until some kind of huge innovation happens. For now, all they can do is try to raise arbitrary numbers on spec sheets. I sometimes go back to my HTC M8 and it runs identically to a galaxy S7 (and I actually like the M8 screen better)...

Don't worry... Touchwiz will occupy the 6 GB RAM like any Android device with 3 GB.

I can fill 8GB each time I work with photoshop (it have 16GB of RAM tough..) and dont worry about that 6GB RAM on note6, touchwiz will eat 3GB or it, and you'll have 3GB left (based on some SS from other article)

Looking forward to the Galaxy Note 6 becoming my primary phone (don't think I'll ever sell this my OnePlus One)...unless the OnePlus Three has a digitizer pen, comes with Cyanogen OS (can't stand that dull stock android) and is awesome like my OnePlus One.

No mention of Microsoft Surface Phone on the list which is quite expected in late 2016? I'm not sure, but I've a hunch that it'll be rocking The Snapdragon 830... This phone will decide the fate of Windows Mobile Platform... Keenly looking forward to it...

Many rumors from Windows insiders confirmed the Surface Phone will be released by 2017.

That would be too late.. they should do something by fourth quarter of this year so that they can rake up some sales in holiday season.........

You know there's another holiday season in 2017 right?

@MrElectrifyer I'm afraid 2017 would be too late... It's not like Lumia 950, 550 or 650 are flying off the factory... Sales are EXTREMELY poor, and I'm sure any sales report will confirm this... They better make haste otherwise it'd be too late... Windows 10 is the only OS that could do something about the ' getting old' dominace of "Two Titans"... Just in love with WP phone on my Lumia 430... It's a dirt cheap phone but can match iPhones when it comes to optimization, fluidnes and stability... LONG LIVE WINDOWS MOBILE!

I really don't care how long it takes them to reach it, if the Surface Phone is capable of replacing my Surface Pro 2 (which is already replacing multiple other devices) without any compromise, I will proudly hop unto the Windows Mobile platform. Android and iOS SmartPhones are meh companions at best, a Surface Phone would be my only computing device.

6gb of ram is just too much...samsung needs to optimize their phones to have a better performance and stick to their own exynos processor. look what apple can do with just 2gb of ram...

There will probably be 2 Google Nexus flagships.

Based on all the rumours the iPhone 7 doesn't look interesting at all... If the "analysts" are to be believed then Apple is saving everything up for a 2017 10th Anniversary model.

Going to wait and see what LG does with the V10 successor. Dual cameras on the front and back? 3000+ mah battery?

I was surprised to see PA not mention V10's successor. Its the one which I'm looking forward to the most. Hopefully its battery life will be great.

Right, this is the only phone I'm truly anticipating. I hope it has a monster battery and an OLED screen.

The Z6 if it appears or X Performance is what I am waiting for. Perhaps Sony is starting a new flagship phone series with the X Performance. Next X Performance might be called X2 Performance.
