Polaroid introduces kid friendly 7 inch Android tablet
Polaroid is joining those producing 7 inch low priced Android tablets, although there is a catch. The $149.99 tablet is designed for kids. The tablet comes with a suite of apps made just for kids including Kids Cam, Music Studio and Draw letting them be creative taking pictures, making music and drawing. Kids Vids offers age-appropriate streaming video and Free Play displays the videos and games available from the kids-friendly app store.

And because we know how kids treat their toys, the Polaroid tablet has innovative side bumpers to protect it while parental controls protect the kids themselves. And the slate even comes pre-loaded with a number of children's books including some Dr. Seuss titles. The tablet will be on display at CES 2013 which starts in Las Vegas on January 8th, although it can be purchased now at the Polaroid Store.

It comes equipped with a 7 inch screen with WVGA resolution, and has a 1GHz processor under the hood with 512MB of RAM aboard. The tablet has 8GB of native memory which can be expanded using the microSD slot and there are 35 premium apps preloaded. A 2MP camera is on back, and a 3500mAh battery keeps the lights on. Android 4.0 is pre-installed out of the box.

Hard to believe that the younger generation will think of Polaroid as a tablet manufacturer while most of us will always remember the company for its instant cameras. If you are interested in ordering the device, you can visit the sourcelink.
