Gingerbread is starting to roll out for the Casio G'zOne Commando
version C771M070. Specifically, it includes a fix to the handset’s proximity sensor, and more importantly, users should expect to see less lag with its operation. Indeed, they’re all nice touches that make this rugged style handset so unique.
So if you haven’t seen that notification light up your phone, then you can always initiate the manual process yourself – but in the meantime, it’s always a good idea to back things up just in case something catastrophic happens.

Kinda have a soft spot in my heart for the Commando. I was really, really interested in it until the spec sheet came out and I saw how under powered it was. I tried the phone out for a while at the Verizon store- I kinda liked the UI, and loved the rugged feel of it. It was a tad laggy to screen commands, but a good effort otherwise. Good to see it getting upgraded.

This is REALLY sad, And again, makes me question why Samsung is SOOOOOOO Horrible with updates! If a phone like this is getting Gingerbread, and the Samsung Infuse is STILL running FROYO?? REALLY sad!!!!!

Ok they made the 100 people that actually bought this phone happy but what about the million that brought the revolution, charge. And the thunderbolt. Come on Verizon together get it together.

Yeah verizon, get it together, cause it's not like the manufacturers have anything do with developing the updates...
I hope those updates get pushed back a month for everytime you bitch about it. If you wanted timely updates why you went with android in the first place or haven't rooted your phone yet is beyond me.

All this phone snobbery. Please! My Commando has survived drops and water that would turn your sissy phone into a paper weight.
