Alcatel Idol 4 coming soon to Canada with free VR goggles in tow
Alcatel announced the Idol 4 a few months ago, but the smartphone has yet to make it to Canada through official means. But that's about to change since Alcatel has just announced the Idol 4 is coming soon to Canada.

According to Alcatel, the Idol 4 will be available in Canada through Videotron. In addition to the smartphone, the carrier will also offer the Alcatel Virtual Reality Goggles for Idol 4 exclusively in Canada as a limited time gift with purchase only at participating Videotron stores.

Another piece of information provided by Alcatel is the fact that the Idol 4 will be available for purchase at Videotron stores beginning September 30.

For those out of the loop, the Alcatel Idol 4 ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box. The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

The Idol 4 comes with a innovative feature called Boom Key. The physical button located on the right side of the phone offers experience enhancements to many features including camera, audio, user experience and more.

Under the hood, the Idol 4 rocks an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.5Ghz, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

On the back, the phone packs a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel wide-angle camera for selfies.

It's also worth mentioning the Alcatel Idol 4 features dual 3.6-watt speakers with Waves Audio technology. The smartphone is powered by a non-removable 2,610 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 21 days of standby time or up to15 hours of talk time.
