iPhone 5S with 128GB of storage possibly coming as well
The closer we get to September 10 – the day on which Apple is expected to announce its new iPhone models – the more and more insider information about them surfaces on the internet. And the latest leak comes courtesy of KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for his accurate predictions about upcoming Apple products.

On the aforementioned date, Apple is expected to announce an iPhone 5S model with a massive storage capacity of 128GB. Previous iPhone models have shipped with no more than 64GB of built-in storage. Currently, the 4th generation iPad is Apple's only iOS product available in 128GB flavor. Given Apple's pricing scheme, the 128GB iPhone 5S may sell for $499 on a 2-year contract, which would make it the most expensive subsidized smartphone sold in the US.

Another hardware upgrade that Apple is likely to introduce with the iPhone 5S is the inclusion of a new A7 chip paired with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The Apple-designed silicon will be based on ARMv8 architecture and will be 20% more energy efficient than the previous SoC known as the A6.

Furthermore, Kuo confirmed the presence of an upgraded camera on the iPhone 5S, sporting a dual-LED flash. The new module with offer larger, f2.0 aperture, which should presumably result in an increase of low-light performance, but the camera sensor itself will not be changed, sticking to 8MP of resolution. Last but not least, a gold color option for the iPhone 5S' outer shell is expected to be unveiled, in addition to Apple's traditional choice of black and white.

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 5S at an official event, allegedly scheduled for September 10. The smartphone is likely to be announced alongside a cheaper alternative known as the iPhone 5C.
