iPatch mod soon to launch, lights up your fruit and doubles as a torch
Last September, a British company that repairs iDevices called iPatch, gave us a preview about a mod it had developed that allowed the Apple on back of the Apple iPhone to glow. Basically, it is just a way to show your solidarity as an Apple fan. While the price tag of $160 seemed a little high to some, everyone agreed that the effect was pretty cool. And while an expected October launch never materialized, the guys from iPatch are back again and this time they have made a little addition to their product. This is not to be confused with the $43 kit that was being sold on KOGadget's Facebook page that we told you about last year.
Now, besides lighting up that distinctive Apple logo, the mod will turn the headphone jack into a torch. Both the torch and the Apple will glow as brightly or as dimly as you want them to, led by the brightness control for the smartphone's display. And yeah, the price is still $160. While it hasn't been released yet and is still being tested, it should be out soon. They are even thinking about transparent ear buds which, when combined with the torch light coming from the headphone jack, would produce glow in the dark headphones. And since the jack still works, even when its a torch, it would not only look cool but would also be functional. In the meantime, the guys at iPatch (are these guys Pirates of some sort?) continue their day job of repairing broken screens and jog wheels.
