iPad 2 to have the same old 768 x 1024 resolution?
A screen acquired from a Chinese iPhone 4 repair shop, which is said to be the same one we are soon to see on the iPad 2, hints what to expect from the tablet's display.

And although this is not verified, a member of the 9 to 5 Mac community claims the screen with this serial number is definitely not coming with a resolution of 1536 x 2048.

If this one proves to be correct, that's the unfortunate end of the rumours that the iPad 2's resolution will quadruple to 1536 x 2048. Rather, the Apple tablet is expected to feature a 9.7-inch screen with the same old resolution of 768 x 1024 and a ppi (pixels per inch) density of 132.

The screen, which once again is manufactured by LG Phillips, is said to be lighter, over a mm thinner and with a smaller surrounding frame

This report, if true, thrashes the notion that the iPad 2 is to feature a much-improved resolution, which may come as a disappointment for a few people - along with the rumours that the next-gen iPad will offer only a 1MP camera.

Take a look at the pictures below, and have your say - do you think this is the very first time we see the iPad 2 display in flesh?
