The AiKi will compete in the grueling smartmarket using price as ts weapon
Xtreamer is a company in South Korea that makes digital media players for streaming media onto your large screen television. The company wants to make a name for itself in a new product line, namely smartphones. As a result, Xtreamer has produced a teaser for its handset
which is called AiKi and will feature a 5 inch screen, dual-SIM cards, Android 4.0.3, a powerful battery, ClockWorkMod based updates and comes out of the box being root access enabled. Xtreamer plans on entering the smartphone wars using pricing as its main weapon. The teaser asks "Why Pay More?" and we get the idea that when it comes to the AiKi, you won't have to.
There is no information on when or where we might see this device show up. In the meantime, there is a sign-up form where you can leave your email and be notified when
AiKi becomes available for purchase. And while the phone may never see the light of day in the U.S., wherever it does appear it should be followed by a trail of users who love to put the word
open in Google's open source OS.
