Xiaomi Mi4 now available to buy (only in China)
Xiaomi’s brand new flagship smartphone, the Mi4, is now available to buy in China, the company’s home country (where, as we type this, it’s Tuesday, July 29). Just like the Mi3 from last year, the Mi4 is a high-end device that doesn’t cost too much. Xiaomi is selling the 16GB model for around $320, and the 64GB model for around $405. Both models are available in two color versions: black and white.

Officially announced last week, the Xiaomi Mi4 was presented as “the world’s fastest smartphone.” While we can’t verify this claim yet, we have to agree that the Mi4 is a heck of a handset for its price. Its features include a metal frame, a 5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, and a 3,080 mAh battery. There’s a 13MP camera on the back of the Mi4, and an 8MP camera on the front. The smartphone runs MIUI 6 UI, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Xiaomi shipped more than 10 million Mi3 units until now, and it will probably ship even more Mi4 units. But we’ll see about that later this year.

The new Xiaomi smartphone will certainly be released in more markets in the near future (for example, Italy may be getting the handset starting next month). Would you buy a Xiaomi Mi4 if it were available in your region?

I flashed MIUI ROM on my Note 3 then I had to flash another ROM in less than 10 minutes cause I had a terrible experience. The phone is a beast but its Android skin is bad just like Touch Wiz not to mention that MIUI English support is not so good that sometimes you feel you got a cheap Chinese knock off

I like MIUI v5 more than touchwiz and ADW launcher EX. I am glad to be able to buy RedMi Note with MIUI interface instead of flashing my own Note 3. My Note 3 is still covered under warranty so I like to keep it stock and unrooted.

miui roms are great in xiaomi phones, they are almost bloatfree, highly customisable, and updates come every week. looking forward to ni 4 launch in india, which is unlikely nearby becoz of mi 3's recent launch.

Launch in India soon, only wish it could have variant with dual SIM support, but Xiaomi's flagships doesn't come with dual SIM and expandable memory. :(

A bit of an OT here I have an Mi3W, but I feel like the battery is not really 3050mah, more like 2300-2500-ish (that's plenty of stuff disabled thru Titanium backup with 60 percent brightness) Or does the UI just really hogs a chunk of it.

Sales aren't going to be that good in China...us Chinese are highly superstitious and think the number four to be very unlucky.
