Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update for HP Elite x3 gets delayed for a few weeks
The latest Windows 10 Mobile flagship launched on the market, HP's Elite x3 is already available for purchase in the US and UK, but customers can get one in other European countries as well.

Although the smartphone doesn't come with Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update pre-installed, HP promised the update will be rolled out in mid-September. However, we're already past that and the update has yet to become available for download.

Currently, the most expensive Windows 10 Mobile smartphone, HP Elite x3 won't be getting the promised update at least for a few weeks.

HP quietly updated its FAQ list about the Elite x3 and added a new deadline for the release of Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update, one that's not really clear.

It appears that “HP is working with Microsoft to release Windows 10 Mobile OS Anniversary Update (Redstone 1) for the Elite x3 in the coming weeks.” Furthermore, the company claims its engineers are already testing the update to ensure the highest quality of performance and stability.

The good news is if the testing goes well, we HP might release the update much earlier than expected. Of course, it's possible that Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update for the Elite x3 could be delayed again.

Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update brings lots of new features and improvements such as fingerprint reader support, as well as Windows Information Protection. Microsoft Edge and Notification synchronization are among the improvements too.

For more details on all the new features and enhancements of the update, you can check out the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update full changelog.

delayed? No $hit? if it was on time it would be a real news. Microsoft touch the bottom, but continue digging...

How? How can this be the case? There's literally 1 handset to support. When you need an update just to use a key feature of the device, there's already an issue. I'd love for Windows Mobile to be a viable alternative, but dang, this sort of thing is just killer.

technically yes, and supposedly it is the result of the 820 firmware. Something about the code was more so designed to dive into x86 instead of 820 but that didn't happen or something. Or simply making sure it works, and doesn't brick a business phone.

No big loss, Andromium OS has made EVERYTHING appealing about this phone pointless. Its camera is a disgrace for the price, the software is a non-stop beta experience (even on 1st party hardware like the Lumia 950s), and hardware wise, it pales compared to the Note 7. Regardless, nice try HP, kudos on paving the way to the true Windows phone.

Perhaps they delayed it to make sure they can cope with the queues around the block...NOT!!! It's sad to say, but Windows Phone is dead. I just hope Nokia can rise from the ashes, and show all of these pretenders how a phone should be made.
