Will making phone calls be in the iPad's future?
For those wondering why would so many phone sites give a hoot about Apple's non-phone tablet, well there are at least two good answers. One is that the Cupertino based firm is offering a model that uses 3G connections besides Wi-Fi. The second reason, more speculative in nature, is that in the future, Apple could set things up to allow for the tablet to be used to make phone calls. And to that end, developers have already been able to produce a green bar on the top of the iPad emulator screen that says "Touch to return to call" in the style of the iPhone. The question is, why is that included on the tablet's OS? Will Apple be producing an HD iPhone in the future? Will the iPad be able to make VoIP calls over Wi-Fi or 3G? Or will the iPad be able to be used as a cellphone down the road?. Or maybe Apple just adapted every iPhone notification into the iPad. It's just another mystery to be solved.
