Which upcoming phone are you most excited about?

Well, we are both feet in the second half of the year and the mobile world is up for yet another series of shocks — the announcements of such colossi as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the Apple iPhone 8, the Google Pixel 2, LG V30, and Sony Xperia XZ1. For a smartphone fan, there's lots to be excited about. We will see most of these devices at IFA in Berlin come September, while the iPhone and Pixel will take their sweet time until September and October, respectively... at least that's what we expect.

Each new iteration has a lot to live up to. The LG V30 has gotten rid of the ticker display and replaced it with a software module, and is also rumored to come with some amazing features for videographers. The Galaxy Note 8 has a lot of bad stigma to go up against — the Note 7's heritage is a cloud of black smoke, still visible just over the horizon. The iPhone 8 is, supposedly, going to have a brand-new, all-screen-front design and we are just bursting with impatience to see what Apple will do with TouchID. The Pixel 2 will, allegedly, get HTC's squeeze feature, and we are really, really curious to see what Google plans to do with it. And then we have the new Xperia... which is kind of more of the same.

In any case, which of these are you most excited about?

Agree with sip1995. I'm most excited about the upcoming Nokia 8. Should have been on the list, IMO. I have the Nokia 6, and it's and the build quality is amazing, and the overall performance is above average for the smartphone category that it falls under.

Not really. My sister got iP7 and I really like 3d touch. You can't find Android phone with so deep implementation. Also I am curious to see how Apple will change iOS to work without button. Will they do gestures? Or the easy "virtual" button way visible all the time? Also "3D" camera on the front is something to check and why they changed back camera position? Let's find out that at premiere. And I would forget. That bezel!!! Side bezel may not be the smallest, but bottom one is and I like what they did at top. Of course I would prefer the same bezel as bottom and side ones, but with all that sensing technology it doesn't look bad at all. It will look even good if background at top will be always black.

Actually, the Nokia 8. I know the design isn't going to be groundbreaking, nor the features, but I'm intrigued. I wanna see if they're able to deliver a solid flagship, they need to prove that they can compete with other brands delivering a quality product with solid performance and with that as a floor start to build the Nokia brand among the top brands again.

Regardless of all the hype, I’m sure the iPhone 8 will turn out to be “underwhelming”. Don’t get you hopes high, lads. Remember how the beloved PA hyped the iPhone 7 just an year ago and how “monumental” (not) it turned out to be with smaller battery, ancient recycled design and no headphone jack? Lipstick on a pig, I’d say. Come to think of it, it's actually no lipstick on a former lipsticked pig! The way I see it, we’ve already seen the greatest phones of 2017 in the guise of S8 and The G6. The remaining flagship ‘bombshells’ like The Pixel, Note 8, iPhone 8, Essential Phone, Mate 10, V30 etc are all passable. 1. The Note 8 is nothing but a S8+ with bigger display yet smaller battery, boxy chassis and a stylus. 2. The V30 is a swollen-up G6. 3. The new Pixels are mere old Pixels albeit without a headphone jack. 4. Essential isn’t THAT essential. And with that hole in the display, I’m sure it’s going to FLOP! 5. The iPhone 8 is going to look like an LG G6 with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. YEARS behind in other words. 6. And Mate 10? Ah! The Mate 10, eh? A mate no one cares about! And that’s it my fellow geeks and freaks. The wise man, the go to man, the old man known as The GreenMan has spoken. Oh well, G’Day!™

About iP8 lets wait and see. In my opion V30 is superior to G6. Smaller bezels, OLED pressue sensitive screen and better camera.

Anyone who claim the Note is just an S with a pen is a complete idiot. Its not an S with a pen, its a Galaxy with a pen. All Galaxy branded devices are very similar, but have distinct features that set them apart from each other. The S and Note have features, that are not available on any other Galaxy model. You sound dumb bruh. 100% agree on the iPhone jargon though. Even the 7S is a recycle design, which apple will make even more profit on, due to the fact the parts are likely even cheaper now. Or Apple simply order 4 years of parts to get them at a low cost so they have no choice but to make the smartphone...AGAIN. But to be fair, car companies only change a design once every 5 years on average. It saves them money and they simply make some cosmetic changes. As far as the rest? Not commenting on phones that run Vanilla Android because I will never buy them. But I will say the LG G6 is garbage. It was overpriced junk. The Essential is probably gonna do better than what you think it will do. You should hold off judgment until its actually available to consumers. After all, when Andy Rubin announced Android, everyone scoffed and thought it was gonna fail, people said the same about DOS and Windows too. Look how that turned out! HMMMMMMM!?!?!

Well.....it is a galaxy s with a pen actually, if you say galaxy with a pen, that would include samsung's army of galaxy phones including gazillion c series, j series, a series, s series and so on. Eh, I can only see you defending samsung like a dead zombie.

I wonder if you are excited to buy it or about what it will bring? I am fan of all mobile tech as you (as you can see in my devices history) and I don't feel it . If you are S pen user then Note don't have any competition, but as far as I am most excited is for iPhone 8. We know a lot about it and still a lot we don't know and in my opinion this is exciting. We already know almost everything about Note. It will be S8+ with pen (+Note functions of course), double camera and that's it! It will be great device for a lot of people, but It's nothing more. I don't think they will suprise us with anything. Still I will wait for tests and if any of new devices won't make wow on me I will wait for S9.

Actually, the Note 8 will be a Note with a S-Pen. The S8 Plus is already on the market. I'm hyped for the Note 8 dude, what is the problem with that? I have an S8 Plus, and I'll soon have a note 8, it's no big deal dude. The world isn't gonna stop spinning 1,033mph on its axis. We simply want what we want. The iPhone 8 doesn't excite me, the Note 8 does.
