Virgin aquires Helio for $39M

Virgin aquires Helio for $39M
It appeared only a matter of time, and today Virgin has agreed to purchase Helio from parent companies SK Telecom and Earthlink for $39M in stock options.  The purchase is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, and the Helio brand will be phased out.  The good news is that Virgin intends to incproprate Helio's technological advantages and content offerings, which means theres a good chance we'll be seeing the Ocean 2 and other cutting edge devices in the coming future.

why would helio sell to virgin mobile thats really stupid and i still wonder why helio doesn't get some more better phones no that theres nothing wrong with their phones but i really want a touch screen phone cause im with helio and a touch screen phone on their 3g network would really be great!!!!

You know, that would be a lot easier to read with some punctuation.

Why hold your breath for new Helio touch screen phones when you can just go and get one from Sprint, which is all the "Helio network" is in the first place. Thats also why it makes perfect sense for them and Virgin Mobile to combine since they piggy back Sprint as well.

and Sprint is failing company, so why would you go someplace with such horrible reputation?

You know that Sprint will always be bailed out by the government as long as they hold on to Nextel that the government uses.
