Verizon to launch Pantech 820 PPC and LG VX9900 in September

According to a field report by Verizon, on September 4 they will launch the Pantech PN-820, a Windows Mobile 5-based smartphone with clamshell design. The device will combine high–end functionality and stylish design but will have a major drawback as it lacks EV-DO, a feature that is especially useful with smartphones. On the same day Verizon are to launch the LG VX9900 - successor of the VX9800 (know as the V). The new hybrid device is said to have “thinner, sleeker look and feel” than its “big brother”. Both the PN-820 and the VX9900 were FCC approved in May.

Moreover, the field report states that the LG VX8500 Chocolate phone will be launched by Verizon with exclusivity for life in the US, although it's still not certain whether it concerns all Chocolate phones or just the VX8500.
