Verizon brings back promotional data plans: 10GB for $80 and 15GB for $100
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
Big Red indicated that it would begin ramping up its promotional efforts as spring yields to summer. To ring in Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Verizon is offering promotional pricing on its 10GB and 15GB More Everything shared data plans.
$80 per-month will net 10GB of data, not including the per-line access charges for smartphones or tablets. $100 per-month offers up 15GB of data. Verizon is also offering 20GB of data for $140.
These deals are essentially the same as what Verizon offered late last year. While summer promotions are also common, it cannot be overlooked that these offers emerged so quickly after the carrier’s subscriber losses, and so-so account additions thanks to tablets.
Verizon’s CFO, Fran Shammo acknowledged that it was not likely the carrier would be able to keep overly-price-sensitive customers in its portfolio. Even at these promotional levels, Verizon’s prices do not really compete with T-Mobile’s or Sprint’s plans, albeit the feature sets are not the same. The promotional pricing is a bit more competitive against AT&T’s data share plans, however.
